Letting the dust settle
« on: March 16, 2023, 11:34:31 AM »
So I have a very small circle of people I interact with who play this game, two of them actually, so probably more like a triangle with me... Anyways, after talking to them about all that's going on and happened, and all these sweeping changes, even ones that might benefit me, I just don't feel the same way about playing this game anymore.

I can't put my finger on it, but it almost feels like the harsh world of Zalanthas is becoming a little too politically correct for me, and trust me I am all for no sexual harassment and all that bullshit, I'm all for unbanning folks and bebop being able to play her nobles and templars and all that stuff she does so well.  But feel we are losing a lot of the core of the game over this, Nessalin calling it quits (Which is actually good for me, that dude HATES me) and Halaster quitting just feels like we are losing the core of the folks who keep the lights on.  I understand that other coders and such can make it work and I'm not doubting their skills or anything (Zorkbob seems to be doing good shit BTW), but it just "feels" different now.

I don't really know why, I don't really know how any of this OOC mess has affected me so much and got me to log off and store a character and not have any interest in playing currently.  I'm thinking it might just be that I need time for the dust to settle and see what's up.

It just doesn't feel the same, and I can't really get the will to play right now.

Maybe you and everyone else, should actually 'let the dust settle', but you can't. Gotta make posts about it and keep the drama going. How about you let changes change, and staff keep staffin' since they are making these huge strides for the better, and let the dust go home?

Maybe you, and everyone else, should be good to one another rather than post bait where it isn't warranted. Knock it off and do literally anything else rather than breed more bad blood in a place where it isn't needed. Genuinely.

This is sorta the problem.

Everyone assumes negative intent in everything.

It can be taken well or badly, let's go for badly.

Great job being part of the problem.

What was the positive message that was meant to be taken well in the original post people seem to have missed?

I was just sharing how I felt and people seem to immediately think that it had some ulterior motive.

Or is that okay now, you disagree with someone's opinion so you just get passive aggressive about it because you can?

Post a negative opinion on the state of the game. Gets confused why people react the way they do and accuses others of just assuming its negative. Cant come up with a positive reason he posted his opinion when asked.

lol exactly. When you can't point to anything positive in it and all anyone else sees is negative it just looks like shit stirring or dramatic attention seeking - or both. Let's call a spade a spade, that's what it is.

This thread has not served a valuable purpose in terms of signal.   I would like to make the suggestion that if you would like to talk through ennui and purposeless, hit me up on Discord.   I am going to lock this topic, as it has been reported more than once.

Do you:
A> Thank the old man for his helpful fumblings, turn to page 43
B> Vow to scalp him in the arena for public entertainment, turn to page 2.
c> Seize vengeance if you can.  The old man left directions to the arch.
Its the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fiiiiiine.

I'm posting to say something. And that is I don't look here.(rarely and less now) Because I have moved on. I'm playing the game. Quit beating a dead horse. Play the game.
