Training Schedule

I just join House Salarr as a Cadet and the Advisor told me I am to keep a Training schedule.  How can I train if I never see any of the members of my House?

Ahh.  The question everybody asks.  How can I train, when there's nobody around?

Fact is...there -is- people around.

Let me tell you about the world which VNPC's live in.

Virtual Non-Player Characters are the people that make up the world around us.  Your dad, your mom, your siblings, your friends.  Your boss, for some cases.  These people exist to make the world run.  They are everywhere, and do everything.  They are your sparring partners.

Now, the beauty of them, is that -you- as a player, have some control over them.  You can make the be extremily good at fighting, or be wimpy and lose to you all the time.  They are the green-haired dwarves and the black-skinned women.

So.  There -are- people to spar with.  Just, you won't be using the combat code to do so.  Just pretend you're fighting a guy with a neat sdesc.  Change your LDESC to be 'is here, fighting the blankety blank man'

And you role-play out the fight.

If -you're- not online, then your other clanmates don't have you to spar with.

You win Armageddon, congratulations!  Type 'credits', then store your character and make a new one

Mansa had some good ideas, and I encourage people to make use of change ldesc command, as well as "shadow-box" - emote sparring with a vNPC.  It's a good way to experiment with fighting emotes before actually trying them out on a player (in my experience, it's harder to come up with good emotes on the spur of moment, sometimes).

I also want to encourage you to contact your clan imm, Xygax or Ixmachina to let them know your feelings on this.  They can give you more information on what you can do within Salarr.

If you haven't already, ask to be added to Salarr's Discussion board.

Please direct questions this clan-specific to your clan immortals (me and Xygax, in this case) through email.

Thanks.
