Combat Log Shortening

I think that the time one should be allowed to quit should be a lot shorter. When I do things with other players like sparring, I don't really get much of a chance to exit off quickly in case I need to do something real quick like doing some family outing or some chore. It's getting really tiring always having to OOC quit all the time after a sparring match.

I set up a timer that logs me out after 5 minutes if I get the echo "But you're too excited to leave!" for the instances where I've already used my quit-ooc.

Honestly the feature could be removed entirely and I wouldn't care.

It has always existed to keep people from running in somewhere, getting into or starting a fight, and running away and logging off. For instance, people could stand up and attack you in the Gaj, then run one room over into the dorms and quit out. Or flee from soldiers while being chased, find a nice room that's quit-safe, and escape via OOC means.

I'm good with the delay staying.

But if that happened it would be obvious, and punishable. Currently you can do your Gaj scenario with quit-ooc. But no one seems to be doing that...

It'd be nice if the game could tell the difference between a spar and actual combat. Or if there were 'combat-quit' saferooms close to clan's sparring areas, that at the very least reduced the timer significantly.

That's because quit ooc is clearly something logged with staff, and something that is noted easily and back-referenced and whatnot. Quit isn't.

That said, I suppose it's possible that I am biased to the old way. If staff were to eliminate that delay, I wouldn't pitch a fit. But I do happen to understand why it exists as it currently exists.

Its always been this way for obvious reasons. In situations you know that you'll be quitting soon, don't spar. If you don't know quit-ooc, but make sure you were sparring and didn't try to kill someone and run away that would be bad bad bad.
