Your first priority should be obtaining some suitable footwear.

Seriously though, we can't discuss ongoing events on the GDB (someone on the Helper chat might be able to give you a few pointers).  Best of luck to you, but keep your sid in the bank next time, eh?

oh and here's a free videogame.

welcome to the game. It looks like you just got some really hard fast lessons about surviving in this world. especially hearing that you probably were playing an hour that, this is not a very surprising turn of events. sadly, this loss for your PC might mean that they will eventually be starving or dehydrating soon. please do not take this too hard. Everybody's first character dies fairly quickly. of note, my first pc died within 3-4 hours of playing them, and many more of my characters died and similarly stupid situations. I hope that you can see the brighter side of things, such as the fact that you probably just gave somebody a life-saving set of (your) supplies. but, that being said, you should still be able to make it if you get a little bit of help, or maybe a little bit of luck. the next best step would be for you to plead for help from somebody you see in the game. Believe it or not, as there are people who are willing to steal for just about any reason, there are also people who want to help for pretty much any reason. if the person who ends up saying that will help you, ends up doing quite the opposite, then that's just another lesson of the reality of this world. the way, I'm really excited for you. however, from this point on with this PC you're playing, you should probably keep what happens to them to yourself. this forum is a great place to ask open-ended questions, such as where does one who has absolutely no money go to earn some money and the like.

sorry for a very long post. I'm using a cell phone to talk. welcome once again and best of luck to you.

This is absolutely adorable.

Once upon a time a young Saellyn convinced a Red Fang he had no money because I didn't even know inv existed.

Imagine his surprise when he had like 800 coins in starting cash like four years ago.

Yeah. That happened.

Same here, but it wasn't a Red Fang, it was a gorram Templar.

I felt really embarrassed when I realized I hadn't been robbed after all.

Vennant doesn't appear to age because he serves drinks at the speed of light. Now you know why there's no delay on the buy code in the Gaj.

No matter how newb you think you are, you will never be this newb.

With one of my first characters I was a ranger in the Byn. I had absolutely no idea that the Score command, or the Skill command existed. (I didn't even read the forums or know they existed for my first year of playing the game. I had absolutely no OOC communication of any kind to teach me the game. I learned things by accident basically. I was also 13 years old.)

I did however have access to the documentation on magic at the time that outlined which words of power you used to cast spells and what order they had to go in.

I took this to mean that if I could figure out the correct order for the words I would be able to cast spells.

Oh, I am so smart, let me setup my excel list with rows and columns to account for every possible combination. I will go through every possible combination there could possibly be, then I will have all of the spells in the game.

Sixteen RL hours later....that's right, SIXTEEN HOURS later, I have went through every possible combination according to my excel spreadsheet.

I have still only uttered meaningless incantations.

All of this was done by myself standing in a T'zai Byn sparring hall without a single emote.

You will never experience this amount of facepalm in your Arm career. Newbs, take heart, you will never be as newb as I was. The entire time I was just too pleased with myself thinking about how fucking cunning I was.

(I've always imagined some staffer watching me do this and considering letting me in on the secret it was never going to work, but then deciding just to see how long I would try. They probably went to take a nap or go to dinner or something and came back and were like, "I can't believe this tard is still going at it.")

"Commander, I always used to consider that you had a definite anti-authoritarian streak in you."
"Sir?"
"It seems that you have managed to retain this even though you are authority."
"Sir?"
"That's practically zen."

I once thought 'kick mount' would spur it onwards.

I was very, very wrong.

Also never knew about the Stat, Score or Skill commands until my 3rd character or so.

Guys, please keep replies in this forum focused on answering questions posed by a new player. It's cool if you want to share stories of silly things you did as a newbie in other forums, but please keep this one to more of a Q/A format.
