Question on command emotes for moving

Reading the help file showed me that pre emotes use paras and post use brackets.
Since we don't get an echo when we command emote walking somewhere with an emote, it's always hard for me to know if I'm doing it right.

Can I do this:

e (with a limp)
The dude walks east, with a limp.

or must I do this:

e [with a limp]
The dude walks east, with a limp.

Thanks for clarification.  (And I wish we could have it somehow echo to us, but maybe that would be annoying.)

You can do either () or [], the positioning of the command emote is predetermined.

When a character leaves, the emote is in the beginning: With a limp, the tall, muscular man walks east.
When a character arrives, the emote is at the end: The tall, muscular man has arrived from the west, with a limp.

The emote modifiers (~!@#%^, etc.)  do not work in movement emotes, however.

So yes, you will look silly when you:

n (waving to ~manwhore) [limping slightly]

FYI: I believe if you put several sets of parenthesis, you will attach movement emotes to anyone following you.

Useful for NPC followers.
