Is the game down?

Started by deviant storm, June 29, 2003, 10:00:50 AM

I tried to log on this morning and I keep getting 'host unreachable'. Can't get the Arm website either. Is the game down? Is it something serious? Or is it just Saikun isn't awake yet to fix it?

After exhaustive and thorough investigation, I've come to the following conclusion:

Saikun's adorable, sweet, cuddly, and always-entertaining ball of fluff kittycat named SayTan Spawn was chasing a mosquito around the server, as he is wont to do during the wee hours of Connecticut summer mornings.

In his tireless efforts, dear SayTan managed to open the Command window and place his tiny little paws on the keys:

I'm sure once Saikun wakes up, he'll have the game up and running, and darling little SayTan will be enjoying a nice bowl of milk beside Tektolnes on the Highlord's living room divan.

I can't get to either the game or the machine itself. I advise enjoying the day for now, and I'm sure Saikun will have the machine back up soon. And at least the boards are up! :)

YAY! Three cheers for Sanvean!

It would seem there has been a power failure, and the system board decided to stay asleep, instead of waking back up like I told it to.

I'll try to get the machine back up this evening.

Woohoo, it's up, mofos!

phew. I thought I wasn't going to be able to play later

3 cheers for Sakun and let's put his cat on the barbeque

So the new machine got scared of the storm and took a nap...

Sounds like a Ginka to me.

SayTaaaaan! Have you been hopping on the keyboard again?!

(Game went kablooie again at 5:52 am EST.. the website's up, but it's saying that Armageddon is still running. Wierd. Maybe it's just me?)

Well I just got dc   The website wasn't accessible for a few mins, now it's back and saying the game is still loaded up, but I can't log in  :?

Nope, it's happening for me as well.  *sigh*  No early morning arm before bed.

Seriously. You distract Saikun, I'll kill the cat.

Acknowledged.

It always seems to happen right when my character has sat down to talk with a certain other character..

Are we cursed or what? Gimme back my early morning Armageddon!

What confuses me is that the homepage still thinks the game is running  :?

Yes. :P

That's probably why the game hasn't rebooted. The game either isn't down or the machine doesn't think it is. Maybe this is the first of cyberdyne. The beginning of artificial intelligence when it deceives itself and becomes psychotic with jealousy and delusions.

I tell people naming machines is a bad idea! Look at all the different movies. 2001 and others. It's just asking for trouble

I've named mine.........Poe! Master Poe! LOL!!!

*sigh* I'm gone with self-delusions of playing Armageddon. Go do something productive, or stay here and keep on waiting. A hard choice.

Meh, complain of missing 'morning' Arm all you want, we Europeans miss out on a whole day of Arming!

... And it's raining outside.

I am beginning to wonder if the new server was such a good idea. The old ginka may have been old, but it was more reliable, imo.

I was actually surprised with how (apparent) little trouble occured with the upgrade. I'm sure in a week's time Saikun will have all the bugs ironed out. Until then we have to be patient.

On the bright side, anyone want some cat? it's really tasty

The new machine is fine. The only problem so far has been the power outage, which can hardly be blamed on the hardware. If you can get to the website, then the machine is up and running, which is about the limit of my sphere of power. If the game itself isn't up, which it isn't, then you'll just have to wait for someone who understands it better than I do to hop on and fix it.

Patience?

You'd think we'd at least be able to watch 'the poo' get chopped by 'wagassi'.

But nooo...

it's raining in london...

again.

But wait! Arm is back.. now the rain will stop I guess too...

hmm.
