Okay. Something that's been bothering me since... pretty much my first character.

The tall muscular man arrives from the west.
The tall muscular man leaves stealthily to the east.

Why is it, that whenever we see a person arrive, we're not told if they're sneaking/walking/running? I know I as a player would respond differently, maybe just ignoring that guy sneaking into the Gaj, deciding my character was paying too much attention to a friend to notice. Or, if my character did notice, they'd certainly try to keep an eye on sneaky Amos for a bit. And of course, if Amos -ran- in, he'd get more notice than Joe Bynner walking in.

So, to repeat my question, Why is it we -only- get to know how somebody's moving when they leave? Why not when they enter, as well?

OLs are like HLs on steroids. They make the Really Big Decisions that affect the course of the entire game.

Why? because that's the way it was coded, possibly even as far back as Diku.

If you would like it changed, Code Discussion is down the hall, or you can use the idea command in game.
