Zalanthan Justice

Hi there,

I was wondering whether any segment of the Zalanthan justice system (Allanaki, Tuluki, anywhere) practices long term or lifetime incarceration. In other words, some Templar has a bad day and decides to go 'lock them up and throw away the key' on an unfortunate soul. Does this ever happen, or are the jails too small that simply executing people is preferable?

One couldn't play this out, obviously, but it would be good fodder for some interesting biographies!

I think that the surviving terrorists that blew up the Tor Academy back in the day are incarcerated in a holding facility loosely associated with Red Storm, within a small dune trader camp at a Silt Sea inlet known as Ocotillo Bay.

In seriousness, I don't think either city-state is interested in long-term incarceration--at least, no more than repeat offenders that keep coming back.
Most jails aren't nice in Zalanthas.  They are dungeons, more or less.  It's dark.  There's echoes in most of them that show a very bad atmosphere.
Enslaving a repeat offender would probably be a common occurrence.  Execution typically is for proving a point.

Political prisoners are the exception to all of the above rules.

With appropriate roleplay of course.

In Allanak, the closest thing you'd ever see to lifetime incarceration is a prisoner-gladiator who just refuses to die in the arena.
