Common Templars.

Though this has absolutely nothing to do with the recent Templar application opening, I am curious as to the myriad circumstances a common-born, non-GMH person in the South would be taken in to the Templarate's service.

The only reasons I can think of is a particularly low internship during a particularly war-heavy session of history, where they had no choice but to pull from the common ranks, or the agents of the Dragon stumbling across a particularly gifted non-highborn citizen.

Thank you for indulging me.

The circumstances are very, very rare. The templarate "having no choice" has probably never been an issue in Allanak. Finding particularly gifted citizens and making templars of them at a young age is more plausible, but these people have just as likely a chance to be killed or enslaved as they do to be templarfied. It takes a Red robe to sponsor someone for templar training, and Reds are politically conscious and careful enough to know the consequences of granting unusual sponsorships, which is why it's so rare. Beyond that, I'm afraid the rest I could say is too IC.
