The most annoying timer bug.

Anybody experienced that as soon as you log into your brand new char, the score command announces that you've been playing for 1 hour already. The next hour or two comes equally fast, and then it either stabilizes itself, or I stop paying attention. It's no big deal in itself but I wonder if there are other bugs following it, as it happens to me all the time. Or I'm just insane?

The Staff can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your character's score timer begins during character creation.

So if you spend an hour inputting the description and background, and the Staff member who reviews it spends twenty minutes going over everything...you're looking at an hour and 20 minutes already "played."

Huh, never knew that. Nor have I ever started playing with 1 hour of time already played on my character, either, so maybe the OP just takes a longer time creating his character than I do or most people. Just another reason to copy paste the whole thing from a word processor.

They have it right, your character creation timer starts when you first start your application.  If you take a while submitting your application the timer is going on your time played.  Note though that staff time reviewing your character does not affect your time.

Yes, it would beat the point of newbie resurrection and reroll time limit.

As someone said earlier.  Do as suggested and write up your application before hand then copy and paste.  That is if it takes you a ridiculously long time to submit an app.

Also, this thread makes me wonder what the OP thinks are the other annoying timer bugs...

Couldn't tell you for sure. I used to use MS Word a long time ago, and it always worked fine for me. But lately I've been using Open Office as I have no other processor on my computer. So unless something's changed in the last year or so, I wouldn't be able to say that MS Word doesn't format well.

Yep.

Portal.  Autotyper.  You type stuff, you hit enter... it tosses all of your writing to the MUD while inserting the line breaks for you so you don't have to!
