I was thinking.... There should be a command that allows subdued characters to be silenced by their subduers. Could be done as simply as putting one's hand over the subduee's mouth. Could keep Magickers from muttering out their "blow you to tiny bits" spell. Could keep your rape victim quiet. Keep any pesky "No I'm not going to pay for my protection money!"ers from shouting to the guards as you beat the money out of them in the dark alleyway. And of course it would go through certain checks for success, maybe the victim could wrestle his/her mouth away long enough to say or shout something. Perhaps chomping down to the bone. Good idea? Bad idea? Eh? Eh?

I think it is a great idea, Minstrel!  Doesn't make sense that its not already there actually, lol.  I would like for it to lower the aggressors ability to fight the flee command.  If one hand is over the aggressee's mouth, you are not holding on to them as tightly.

Sure.

But logically, the subdued victim would have a better chance of fleeing if the subduer has one hand on their victim's mouth. While on the subject, why not include code suggestions to cover sight and hearing as well?

I think we could also benefit from code that would allow bandanas to be tied around the victim's mouth, ears or eyes.

I have the uneasy feeling that some of these ideas would be used more often for adding bondage play to mudsex than for actual kidnappings, but maybe I'm just cynical that way.

I vote for three new additions then. Gag, blindfold, and bind.

Gagging and blindfold could be done one of two ways. With a hand, thus decreasing the hold of the subdue.. Or with a bandana, temporarily decreasing the hold until it is tied in place.

Bind would obviously have to have a suitable rope. All three would have a delay while you're 'doing' the action. If you're the one with the subdued person, it could raise their chance of escape somewhat. But someone else besides the person subduing the victim should be able to perform the action, without the decrease.

Decrease in escaping gag or blindfold if performing these on someone who is already bound.

I bet people already do this without the coded props.  However, what I =would= love to see would be something like this:

The shadowy assassin rips out the sexy dominatrix's spine, then tears off her arm and beats her with it, leaving a puddle of blood and gore.

The tall man wiggles his toes, making vague noises of gagged distress until he Ways his friend Amos to come rescue (and probably point and laugh) at him.

Riight. And someone trying to subdue another person who's bound at the hands and feet won't have to go through any success checks. Another thing I thought up is that when bound and gagged, one can draw whatever weapon that is sheathed in his/her wrist-sheath, or boot-sheath for the really flexible, and won't be noticed unless actively watched. Y'know, for those who just can't slip out of the ropes.
