Arm experiencing unstability?

I've been booted and reset backwards like 5 times now in about 5 hours

What's going on.

Grr..

Someone get a rope and hang them.

I was having a really good time in game, and now I bet I'm going to be tossed back to my last save point *scowl*

Whoever keeps playing with settings or whatever in the game, QUIT!

No way, they're fun to play with

Did you know you can use the "save" command any time you want? If you're playing on a day the game seems to be having trouble, you could always just "save" every few minutes if you're trying to get from point A to point B. That way if you get punted out, you'll be in the last place -you- saved yourself, instead of set back to the last game-save-point. It might only be a matter of a few rooms, but it's a lot better than returning to the same place over and over again :)

if i understand correctly, saving too often isnt very considerate, since each saving DOES take a toll on the server's performance

This is not something you need to worry about during normal play.  Save as often as you feel is appropriate.

The real risk of saving too frequently is that you might save yourself somewhere you don't wanna be (or after completing only half of a transaction, say).  A good policy is to save BEFORE you drop or give away anything, and AFTER you acquire anything you want (or in the case of a transaction/trade, save after the full transaction is complete -- might even be worth OOCing with the other person).  Additionally, if you're travelling with a party, you should save when they do as well as before and after you leave and return from the city respectively.

The game will automatically reboot itself after a crash, unless someone intervenes and stops it.  I noticed your post was at like 3am EST.  There was likely a bug that caused a crash, but no one was on at that time to fix it, so it just kept crashing for the same reason.
