Seeds and seedlings

I wonder if Arm's nifty scripting language is broad enough to handle these.

Say you have a seed or seedling. You plant it (in a pot full of soil), at which time the object records the date. Then, over time, it could grow and grow, changing desc, maybe even becoming harvestable or yielding flowers or an edible item.

Seeds could be obtained from mature plants (maybe only during one season of the year).

Naturally it would need some watering, the frequency and amount depending on the plant.

Could this be implemented (without handsprings)?
Lunch makes me happy.

I think that would be a neat idea, but the seeds should be hard to find if the plant yields valuable things like fruit.  It could be hard for a person to maintain a plant like that well enough.  If implemented, I think that there should be a chance that the plant dies or grows badly so the fruits are very scarce/small, or even poisonous.

This sounds like an extremely neat idea, and it would have been a great boon to a certain project that once existed in-game (and I am sure there have been others like it).  Objects would need to be created for the stages of each plant, to reflect its growth or its failure to grow, as well as the seeds themselves.  Soil types would need to be designated and created, and potting objects and planters would need to be written up and implimented.

A single "base" script could be written, with certain values modified for each plant to reflect the amount of sunlight, water, and soil type that they need to grow successfully.  This would be discovered through trial and error by each gardener and herbalist.  The products of the plants would be able to be used in a multitude of cooking, herbalism, and perfumery crafts.

A ton of work, but it does sound very neat.

Seeds should be numerous.

Growing them should be difficult.

Arm is evil.  And I love it.  It's like the softest, cuddliest, happy smelling teddy bear in the world, except it is stuffed with meth needles that inject you everytime

I don't know about difficult - but definitely water-intensive.  Fruit plants especially should require a lot of water.  If you're rich enough to keep yourself -and- your orchard hydrated, then rock on.

I just would be afraid of seeing someone carrying around a kalan bush in their backpack of holding.
