The Count

No, it's not counting numbers that I'm going to talk about, but rather about a 'Count'.

What I was going to say was, are there any Count of Monte Cristos in Zalanthas? I'm sure there are, but I just wanted to remind some potential plotters out there about the great examples to follow.
Heh, my favorite book by the way. Not like the movie...

no....I don't think so Solas...Well there is, but no there isn't..

If you mean your general nobleman, yes, there are noblemen and women.

But if you mean it in the sense it was in Europe (special rank of noblemen) Count isn't a word in Zalanthas, but there are different social levels of nobility, they don't have titles, and it's hard to distinguish them anyways.
It really depends on the house as well, some wouldn't even go down as far as count (king - duke - marquis - count)  as far as societal level.
It's more of a: I'm an experenced noble, you're too inexperenced, so I'm superior.

In other words...no there aren't counts, and if there were, 99% of people wouldn't know what they were anyway

  Didn't mean 'Count' literally. I was refering to the personality and charisma of the Count of Monte Cristo. Sorry, I should have explained it as thus.

Perhaps, perhaps not.
Quote from: AnaelYou know what I love about the word panic?  In Czech, it's the word for "male virgin".

However, I'm seeing an amusing short term character concept here.

The purple skinned man with a monacle says in sirihish:
"One.... One teensy tiny gortok. Ha ha ha ha!"

The purple skinned man with a monacle says in sirihish:
"Two... Two teensy tiny gortoks... Ha ha ha ha!"

The purple skinned man with a monacle says in sirihish:
"Three... THREE Teensy tiny gortoks... Ha ha ha ha!"

The purple skinned man with a monacle waves his arms and lightning crosses the sky, followed by a clap of thunder.

The large, now-counted pack of gortoks mauls the purple skinned man with a monacle, doing horrendous damage.
The purple skinned man with a monacle cries out in pain.

*beep*
Welcome to Armageddon!

Like I said... real short term.
Whaddaya think? Should he have a maxxed out count skill? :)

For those who knew him, my husband Jay, known as Becklee from time to time on Arm, died August 17th, 2008, from complications of muscular dystrophy.

That's f-ing hilarious!

Within at least a couple of the noble houses I know, there ARE different "titles" for the nobles, but it's generally a case of those people having special positions within the House. For example, the noble in charge of the House's army might have the title of "Lord General" or some similar thing, but wouldn't necessarily be addressed by it outside of his own House. To Horton, your average rank and file commoner, "a noble's a noble, no matter how small...."

 Oh well. I was just trying to stir up a potential plotter or two with this thread is all, so you can forget about me mentioning a Count of whatever. Don't get me wrong now, I'm quite sure there are many out there already.

Cheers to them.

I've played some plotters.  I won't tell whether my current one is or not.

Don't quote me, but  am pretty sure that there are no Counts on Zalanthas. There are different titles for Lords and Ladies of noble houses and merchant houses also have titles for their ranks.

Count as far as I know is not one of them.
Sometimes I feel less like an immortal and more like a drug dealer.

Although if some noble said, "They call me the count, because I love to count!  Muh ha ha ha ha!" I certainly wouldn't argue with him.
