Flaire's player doesn't appear to be playing the game at this point in time. He was a newbie and it was only his 2nd PC.yeah he was cool
Just keep it nice in this thread, please.
Those who have the logs ought to think of submitting them.

That one chick I banged, the one with the big tits? Call me pls. Would bang again.
I am pretty sure characters are still around from those days.
That's the thing about talking about pc deaths.
I don't think the 1 year softcap is long enough personally.
Whatever happened to the two people, sorry but I forget your names....you were lesbians together in Redstorm and I was the assassin Eye that creeped you out and made you leave the town? I always wondered where you went and what you did. The only part of that I ever got was that you were scared and left town.
Also, same character...what ever happened to Mister Steak, I think was your name? I recall my Byn unit at the time actually broke into your apartment, stole your things, shit on your rug, and left a single coin in the shit. I laughed so hard. I remember you caught me once stealing your worm hide that the Byn, my own unit, had just brought to you and sold you. You left it in that apartment and I went to steal it so you would hire us again to get you some more....and you actually walked up while I was in the process of doing it (needless to say you didn't hire us to go get you more)! LMFAO I liked Mister Steak.
Whatever happened to Sis, I think was her name? You were my friend when I played Markus, the Face of the Guild for a while in Allanak. I died to a insta-gib whiran back before whirans got changed and just sort of left you there. (I thik Shaleah might have played this character? I can't recall. For some reason I'm thinking that.)
Also, same character, whatever happened to the little girl that Markus had adopted, I think I called her Pearl but she called herself Killa, much to Markus' dismay? Markus made a special Templar's Heart soap just for her in an attempt to get her to at least try and stay clean. I don't think she ever did. She did however draw a lot of dicks on my walls.
Whatever happened to Rennick/Rannick One-Eye who I left behind when Gage Gritshaw died? He was my most trusted right-hand man. I think maybe Rishenko played him? I can't remember for sure, sorry bud. I always wondered what happened to him after Gritshaw died.
Whatever happened to The Sandman? I recall this guy from WAY BACK across a few characters of mine. In general, I would just like his story, just because I would.
Whatever happened to Kyros the white-haired elf from WAY BACK in the Byn around the time of the Tuluki occupation and the battle that actually ended it?
Whatever happened to The Plainsman? I heard rumors but I don't know for sure whatever happened to this guy. I remember for a while he was like the leader of The X-Men or something.
Whatever happened to Sergeant Hooker Marek of The T'zai Byn? I can't remember how he died, if he died, or what happened to him. I feel like I should remember this, but I don't. I liked him a fair bit.
Whatever happened to Danu of Kurac? Danu was fucking awesome. He killed me with a couple of characters and took me under his wing with a few more.
I may think of more later.

Back in 2003 I played with a character named Shekinah, really cool PC. I always wondered what happened to her!

Oh hey - I had Markus killed and regret it. I played Bashir, a Byn Sergeant who was also a secret whiran. He thought Markus was getting close to knowing his secret and had some other whiran whack him.
I'm glad summon is gone.

Wasn't Shekinah one of the really high-society prostitutes? A courtesan?

I think the comment about who ShaLeah (maybe) played was meaning Sis, not the Whiran. Snipping quotes sometimes makes the meaning of things fuzzy. Not that big a deal, was just an observation though.
I've never been insta-whooshed away and dropped by a Whiran. Sounds pretty shitty.
There are a handful of people I wonder about, maybe I'll look back in my notes and come up with a list.
*sigh, nostalgia*

Ysania.
A few of my earlier characters worked for her when she was a Kadian merchant. Then she lead a rebellion uprising and make Tuluk happen?!? She got a street named after her, but then what?
Is her player still around?
-----
There was a particular Borsail noble that, for me, was the absolute iconic noble for Armageddon. He hired my character as a 'secret' employee. Created a fake organization called Brekkin Outfitters. Ended up working with Pearl to design new uniforms, and I think after my PC died the whole 'Brekkin Outfitters' organization was absorbed into the Wyverns as a new unit or something. I can't for the life of me remember the character's name, but damn, he was awesome. Stole Pearl away from Tor. Always plotting. Made things happen. Crazy emotes the likes of which I'll never live up to.
WHO WAS IT???

Vadelorin Borsail (I might've spelled it wrong). Played by Clegane. Same period as Marie Tor (remember the one who hung out mostly in Trader's, usually at the same table every time, usually unresponsive but every once in awhile she'd come to life and emote hunching over the table, unresponsive, before she went back to being unresponsive :) )

If Flaire was a spymaster, then Hederai Negean was an elf.
jk I liked Flaire. It's sad because the iteration of Tuluk before it closed I thought was going pretty swell. Lots of different factions vying with and against each other. Good Leaders, Great Minions.
My Tennishi Advisor, Durik, is like one his first best friends. In fact, I was the one who helped him to learn the ropes a bit.

We had some cool times.
Hederai Negean was born into a life of privilege, fortune, and above
all, knowledge. Twenty-odd years of tutelage from the Konviwedu and
Driamusek Circle Masters, along with instruction by rote in the Library of
Negean, left Hederai a socially awkward boy and man, one given to long
nights of study rather than camaraderie or plot. He learned how to read and
write easily, and voraciously devoured books -- He was often called Hederai
the Blind behind his back, because he would walk while reading and bump into
people or stationary objects, so absorbed was he in the contents. It is
this absorption in the world of knowledge and histories that Hederai could
barely realize what was happening to House Negean before the hammer-blow
fell. His mother and father protested loudly, even publicly, against the
Templarate takeover, and were not seen leaving the Heart after their private
conversation with a certain Lirathan. Confused, stricken, and concerned,
Hederai barely knew how to respond to the knock at his private apartment
door around midnight one night -- The last night he would spend in the
Negean Estate. The next few years were a blur -- After being
indoctrinated into the New Order of the Templarate, Hederai found his past
with Negean began to blur into a meld -- The knowledge he gained from his
youth remained, but his feelings about his parents and his other family
began to recede and fade, like a dream after waking.
Hederai's Personality / Quirks : Mar 30, 2015
It was late afternoon on Barani, the 131st day of the Low Sun
In the Year of Drov's Vengeance, year 24 of the 22nd Age
Hederai's personality is one of a cold bookworm, combined with the feigned haughtiness of a once-fat man now turned into a chiseled statue.
He is incredibly dismissive of 'non realistic plots' or 'speculation', being rooted himself in facts and primary sources. He labels works of literature without an author as AUTU, Author Unknown, Text Unreliable. He does not entertain conversations revolving around 'I think' or 'It could be', believing that it creates problems out of thin air that did not exist before, and are made reality by discussing them.
Hederai is a man of action -- Being born into a House of such in-action, and sloth, and personal knowledge gain, his transformation into a Faithful Lord has brought out a much more industrious side of his being. Whether this is by design of the <redacted>, or a motivational pull from Hederai's own essence, is unknown to him.
Hederai enjoys libations, perhaps overly so. He is a fan of spiced brandy, and smokes a little too much spice, especially after long patrols or a hard day with his Faithful Brethren. Like the works of fiction he reads, it is a means to 'escape'.
Hederai is a decent violinist, having learned in his youth from Olide Driamusek, and taking lessons once again with the ancient man. He is working on a system of music notation (OOC: Not classical, but probably something more Japanese or eastern.) using Cavilish Cipher.
Hederai is incredibly paranoid, and power-hungry. He believes that he was 'chosen' for a reason by Muk Utep, that he might live life as a Surif for so long, and be plucked from their ranks to serve as a Faithful, only serves to enhance his ego in this belief.
Path of <redacted>: Training Continues : Apr 07, 2015
It was late afternoon on Waleuk, the 28th day of the Ascending Sun
In the Year of Drov's Vengeance, year 24 of the 22nd Age
Hederai's training in the <redacted> has differed quite drastically from the <redacted>. Where the <redacted> turned the mind's eye inwards, to expand pathways and links between the psionic mind and fleshy, useless body, the <redacted> turns the mind's eye outwards -- To the minds of others. Like a probe, Hederai has found he can investigate other's minds, picking away information they would not readily provide, or simply soak up their thoughts like a sponge for later use against them.
As the <redacted> required hours of meditation, visualization (of Muk Utep and the lineage tree spread away from him), and communication (repeated mantra), Hederai spent many collected hours and weeks in isolation within the Tower of Lirathu. With the <redacted>, Hederai has taken a more hands on approach.
He has had Nori, his Aide, collect vagrants and derelicts, mutants and those without family, alcoholics and spice-addicts. Hederai has invited them for 'a few drinks' in the Heart, having them imbibe copious amounts of alcohol, and then (perhaps cruelly) using them for experiments within the jail-cells before quietly executing them. He investigates their past, their present, their relationships and their desires. He begins as a stranger, and leaves their mind as a 'friend', familiar with their details and confident that they have nothing further to hide, before he slides a knife into a particular artery Hederai knows bleeds them out quickly, and painlessly, easing them out of the suffering of this life.

Does anyone have any logs of the last heap of RPTs that happened in Tuluk? From wezertimes onward?

The joys of the playing the guerilla sergeant leading a unit to guard/babysit two fancy-pants (rhodran and yasir) while they drank whiskey and went 'big game hunting' for gizhat. Very entertaining scene. Also, one of the rare times you get to see this:
A gizhat tumbles west
A templar tumbles west.

Who the hell was playing that absolutely awesome character?!
... you guys know exactly what I'm talkin' about.
I was the aide on the ride.
OK, I'll bite. The ones I wonder about...
Angela Christine? Where did she evaporate to? I honestly have no idea who she ever played, but her board presence was amazing.
Moontug :(
What's Bhagharva been up to these past few years? Is he in a metal band? Where did he go?
Kholdarian and Koeishna Oash were the first two nobles I ever interacted with, and they were amazing to my little newbie brain at the time, and I wonder if they're still out there. They antagonized my PC ENDLESSLY in Trader's.
I know Dyrinis and Halaster retired, but to where? Could they ever be coerced to come back? I've had no luck with Tlaloc, sadly. Maybe now with the new magick changes...
Where did Naatok go? I remember his sorc that would walk around with floating heads and talk to them...
Pai'ta? I forget your board name. You were fun to play with!
People keep making families and things, you all need to stop.
Moontug is indeed a frowny face that he's not around anymore. Back when IRC was prevalent, he was one of those who constantly served as an example of how to be responsible with it and an excellent roleplayer. He was the first one who showed me emotes that weren't just his actions, but livening the atmosphere of the game. He and I were friendly at the time that the 'It's in my Belt' log submission was made; I was still pretty noob at the time, but he showed me even friends OOC can still kill each other.
I don't miss Bhagharva. I stand by, to this day, that what he was doing with his whole playing a Red Robe while staffing the Guild was pretty crooked. Nothing like having the same uber NPC guild assassin chasing you around the city with no regard to her own life, and even dying to soldiers a couple times in a row, until she got you, because you did a random break in on his templar's mansion. ::)
Sorry about Kholdarian. When I was newer to the game, probably in year two or three, there were a few posts in a short amount of time about how to deal with linkdead pc's. I was stuck in the Oashi mansion because of weird circumstances that I won't go into, and he was either linkdead or very afk, and I killed that PC in order to try and use his helm as a disguise to get out. He played another PC after that, which I played with, but I don't think he ever recovered really from that lack of consideration on my part. I probably turned him off from the game enough that he just left, which is a shame.
Pai'ta, if it's the half-breed Drovian, was actually very close to my Haruch Kemad character, known to the public as Kiraam. That was one of the first elves where I roleplayed the internal struggle of being associated with a breed (even though it was a manipulative relationship; Haruch Kemad are literally close to no one). It kind of opened up the world of elven mindsets to me, along with direct tutelage via email and discussion with Zagren about how the eastside is organized and works, Haruch Kemad's place in it, all the eastside tribes and their roles and relationships, and how elves are disliked not because of the things they do, but because a well-played elf makes sure they win in every relationship/interaction (not necessarily to the other person's detriment). It's all just jealousy of the superior race, the elves. ;) If you're still around, pof Pai'ta, you had a large part to do with my current love of elves, so thanks for that!
I remember, Bryl, was it? That old dusty gemmed Rukkian half-elf that once lived with the Red Fangs and had like, a million stories to tell (and possibly more bite marks).
Angela Christine posts on somethingawful.
Didn't she have like 20 cats?No, that's Malken.

I think Tasok stored and had a retirement party because he won Armageddon. He was alive when I started my first character, up until just one or two years ago.
Tori the dwarf legionnaire was killed by a Lirathuan. I'm still angry about that! LOL. I'm pleased someone remembers him.
I lost my PC two weeks before the HRPT fight between Nak and Tuluk. I made a dwarf because I wanted someone with a chance not to be useless in 2 weeks time, so I could enjoy the HRPT. He was mobbed by the Byn at the first contact and I had to flee immediately, so I still missed everything, lol. I believe I counted 10 of them taking swipes as he fled. I was afraid I'd fall off my inix and die trying to find my way to safety, riding around with 6 hp.
I never expected him to live so long! I had a lot of fun with him.
:( No one misses my chars.
Seriously though, the comments made about chars who were loved or reviled have given me a lot to think about in terms of how to improve my rp and plottiness.

Were you "Dan" on a previous GDB account? If so, I remember one of your stumps in particular, back when I played Irminia Kadius. He was one of the best on her crew, and he had a focus of finding the people who killed his parents I think. I don't remember his name though.
I always wondered what happened to Torihan. I never got to kill you and bury you next to your daddy like I promised I would.
What happened to Merchant Ita of Salarr?
Ashad.. I remember him as quite a nuisance, but he was involved in stuff and also got things done, in ways that were sometimes useful to the Templarate. I suppose he was gradually working his way up the long list of people to be disappeared, but the Deluge got to him first. It's been a long time now, almost seven years, heh.
I don't know what happened to Virren. Probably storage? I remember the PC went missing a while and then came back a month or so later, only to disappear again sometime in late 2013.
Faithful Lady Templar Qoriya Tenneshi, the White Hammer, went on to serve the Sun King for a long time, eventually retiring from public duty mid-2014 at the age of 75. She was promoted to High Templar and given the task of training the new Negean Faithful in the unified templarate. There's a lot to say about Qoriya, though much of it will always be too IC-sensitive to discuss.
I know, I need to quiet down, but what happened to that Kadian crafter who became an apprentice bard in one of the circles back in late 2010?
I can't exactly relate the circumstances of how on the GDB, but one night in her tenement, Torihan lost control of her powers and killed her father. (Taijan actually created an NPC father for me to kill, which was so absolutely amazing - I'd intended it to just be a solo RP scene.) After murdering her father, Tori was in a total panic, so she asked her lover (a fellow named Jak, played by a relative Arm newbie as I recall) to come over and save her. I basically was resolved to put my character's fate in Jak's hands at that point; if he had killed her, it would have been a more than fitting Tuluki end. But instead the power of love prevailed. Jak and Tori buried her father's body in the tenement room itself, since it had a dirt floor. From then on I left really incrimidating HEY THERE IS PROBABLY A BODY BURIED IN HERE ldescs in my apartment, but nobody ever broke in while Tori was still living there to my knowledge.
I know, I need to quiet down, but what happened to that Kadian crafter who became an apprentice bard in one of the circles back in late 2010?
Got a name?
Ale Six played a bunch of cool characters, but I won't out him on any.
Ayla Konviwedu. I'm unsure of the details, but I think she had a child with a Legionnaire (Arj?), went away for a while and then got sick (?) and died/stored sometime in early 2011.

I played Arj, also. Arj and Ayla were lovers but we never really roleplayed that out much. They met in the Luir's market when he was still working for Kurac, and he had a huge soft spot for bards, as anyone who knew him would know. They would eventually have a daughter, Sera, who was playable age by the time of his death, and we had a few people ask if they could play her, if I remember right.
Ayla died in childbirth. I'll always feel bad about this one. The player is a very sweet person who offered to store for my comfort. Basically, I found out she was played by one of my pals, and I have trouble portraying things properly when I know who is on the other end. I was going to store, and she stepped in and said, 'No, don't, I will.' I feel like I could've come up with a better solution. I'll leave any further discussion up to her, but Ayla was a great PC.

It definitely makes me understand why people are never like "What ever happened to Riev's characters?". I mean. I never even APPROACH the level of some of the players here.
That one time? Where I had a cool Legionnaire? And I did NOTHING with it? ... Ugh.
Whatever happened to Holten Ironfel? Did the Plainsman finally get him? That guy was the best bard I've ever seen. I like how he wasn't so much concerned with the performance arts and was more concerned with history and stories.

I remember your last Legionniare who was a Byner and Salarri hunter before becoming a solider on two characters, one which was in House Salarr (Zenthar). I think it was Tulay was the other one, though I might be recalling someone else.
But I appreciate your characters!
I mean. That HAD to have been Creek but it was so long ago I don't remember being a Bynner and Salarri. Gavin was both, but he wasn't a Legionnaire and was also as boring.
I like my characters when I play them, but in retrospect, nothing cool happens to me and I'm incapable of making cool things happen. C'est la Arm.
And that one Guild Leader that was a mutant, and also a Sarge in the Byn? Whoever that was, that guy was hardcore.
I recall Elithan had ended up with sorcerer powers and all kinds of interesting things by the time it was done.
It's like all thebest stories andLONGEST LIVED characters came from Tuluk.

Yeah, Chaska, my Jul Tavan mostly played in Tuluk, was allowed to store-unstore a couple of times because he was so long-lived that I needed breaks once in a while (probably not something they would allow to do nowadays)
He was with the same mate for more than a RL year which was also strange because I didn't know the player at all but we would see each other almost daily.
It's like all thebest stories andLONGEST LIVED characters came from Tuluk.

FTFY. Sure there were some great Allanaki heroes, but Tulukis lived for absolutely ever. Team Evershine was always great at providing great RP opportunity, making it dangerous, but not party wiping just because "the world is dangerous out there".
Allanak, generally, is more of a potential party wipe because "LETS FITE"

Allanak, generally, is more of a potential party wipe because "LETS FITE"
The higher rate of public deaths versus "lived so long won the game bored now store" fates also means there's less wondering about what happened to southern PCs.
I really hope desert spiders aren't that big. (I honestly never stick around long enough to examine such things. Cuz they're dangerous.)
I really hope desert spiders aren't that big. (I honestly never stick around long enough to examine such things. Cuz they're dangerous.)
Normal giant spiders in game are in the range of 6 to 8 feet tall and 500-ish pounds. So, not quite as big as pictured, but still plenty big enough to be freaky.
Yeah, Chaska, my Jul Tavan mostly played in Tuluk, was allowed to store-unstore a couple of times because he was so long-lived that I needed breaks once in a while (probably not something they would allow to do nowadays)
He was with the same mate for more than a RL year which was also strange because I didn't know the player at all but we would see each other almost daily.

and I think we need flamethrowers in game.We already have. :P
Be very careful about what you say about spiders on the GDB around Talia. Saying something like "I really hope desert spiders aren't that big" is tantamount to asking Talia to make desert spiders that big.
Now when you say tall, is that from sand to top of their head? Or their length?
I'd always been under the impression that was length, which was still downright frightening, but if it's the former, that's fucked up and I think we need flamethrowers in game.
Whatever happened to those Kadians from way back, Brethel and Rokov?
Musadir, as I recall, was the medic of the Faithful.
I've always seriously wondered where Takharion's aide Shaze went.
Musadir, he was a cool dude up in Tuluk back in the day, seemed like he was seriously in some shit. I think he was an assassin for the Faithful or something? I hated how my militia corporal died on that guy and always wondered how he ended up getting on.
Tasim, he was I think a Tor something or other, my Kadian character Jan's lover. I kind of wondered how his shit went after I stored (sorry dude). And also Sergeant Syl (Borsail Wyverns, god I loved that character) and Xing (a hunter that I loved playing around back then). This was all 2010ish.
Lady Jessenia Borsail? I think that was her name? Played with my Borsail noble Portenna and was a character I loved to subtly hate.
Both Kurac.
Rokov became a Hlum noble and took his Tan Muark fuck-buddy as his consort. Pretty sure he was stored not long after that.
I don't remember what happened to Brethel - I remember he was at one point wearing a slave collar by Allanak, and then he was involved in Kurac pulling completely out of Allanak for a long-ass time. Can't remember if I ever knew what became of him in the end - if he was killed or if he stored.
Like Riev said, I think no one remembers my PC's expect Durik.
Who was the burned up girl from the Expansion division... Wasn't that Hawk?
Hey guy, you don't know much about Salarr! They're expansion division, they're like.. armsdealer hobos.
Eh, she was all right.
Kinda rough around the edges but led people well enough.
Well, that's the impression my dude from back then had.
Lots of the old crew from the era, I already know the endings of, but -
early 06 - late 07 end of the world times:
Expansion Division - Bryn? Hawk? Arun? I know Bryn wound up in Tuluk, and I know Arun we SUSPECTED of being a traitor.
Serba?
Venom?
Deadeye? (I know there've been several; this one was of the less-than-savory celf persuasion.)
A lot of practical sorts tend to be, the only way you can permanently engender discipline in Arm is by being a hardarse.
And particular people like Salarr need to be willing to step aside from the Law to get stuff done.
Bear in mind my perspective is from a military man in Allanak who rarely if ever saw people not from Allanak 'behind the scenes'.
Like Riev said, I think no one remembers my PC's expect Durik.
Like Riev said, I think no one remembers my PC's expect Durik.
I remember Durik. Kiris stole his hat, and then we did an entire.. thing... that I logged, that I won't submit. Because it's a terrible example of RP.
But, we had fun. :)

Pretty sure Githclit killed Arun, or had him killed. I forget.
Hey Ranak became a Lyksaen Noble. Probably the most "win" Hlum Noble there was. He even had a hot NPC Lyksaen wife.
What about Albie, a half-giant circa 2014?
Hey Ranak became a Lyksaen Noble. Probably the most "win" Hlum Noble there was. He even had a hot NPC Lyksaen wife.
I honestly thought that was a super cool path for a Hlum noble, to actually marry into a House with a REAL noble wife.
I don't think it led anywhere other than a few fizzled ideas and what felt like a quick storage. But what a great way to have PC representation that "In Tuluk, we are ALL his Chosen People. You just might not know it yet"
Tasim, he was I think a Tor something or other, my Kadian character Jan's lover.
Lyksae is the best warrior clan. Miss it.
he was so badass that a full-blooded elf decided he was an acceptable mount and would ride around on his shoulder.
Quotehe was so badass that a full-blooded elf decided he was an acceptable mount and would ride around on his shoulder.
Huge frown.

To be clear: Nothing like this was OKed or would be OKed by staff, and if we saw / did see anything like that, we would have / did talk to the player(s) involved in the unacceptable racial roleplay.
Iunno if this is even in thread context, but I've seen a few posts from folks and I just want to say.
Don't feel bad because your character didn't do some big, mega-cool thing. Because in Armageddon MUD, even the small things have an impact and while you may not have had your character mentioned, I guarantee somebody probably remembers them and may have been influenced by them.

What about Manzu or whatever his name was of Kadius back in 2010? I know that he became Merchant Trainee a bit after Dake died.
what happened to that guy, in 2010, who emoted in red's having an absolutely enormous penis? a templar walked in, and escorted him out, and i never saw him again.
anyone? who was that? was it you?
Who was that rainbow haired Byn sarge from around 2012? I remember playing one of my more longer-lasting characters with her, and she was fun to RP with.
kankfly was this in like 2010?
because if so... same guy. no idea what happened to him.
Aww. I had a pc who was quasi-involved with Heejo. Now I miss him. <3
kankfly was this in like 2010?

No I think manipura is thinking of an older reincarnation of rainbow hair Sergeant. I think the recent one was played by Kankfly.
Aww. I had a pc who was quasi-involved with Heejo. Now I miss him. <3
Fun fact: Literally every female PC had a quasi, if not full-blown, involvement with Heejo. Love you, Smiley!

Then there was that fat, trinket-bearded merchant, Harar or something? Guy had some kind of weird long-term master plan I never did figure out, ah well, wanted to see what it was, but wasn't so fortunate.
What about that old wizened Dasari lord back in 2012(?)?
What about that old wizened Dasari lord back in 2012(?)?
Not quite sure who you mean, but I would guess they stored.
Did you play him, path?
Then there was Gavin and his fucking chair (whatever happened to that chair?)
Shout out to Rahnevyn as my staffer at the time. He was top shelf.
Then there was Gavin and his fucking chair (whatever happened to that chair?)
I think it was more of a stool than a chair. It was his "We're out on contract and fuck if I'm standing around" seat. I HONESTLY feel like a gith stole it from me during an altercation, and he just always had more important shit to do than make himself another one.
Story of my life. The goddamn chair gets a "whatever happened to..."... ;)
Heejo was the shit.
Heejo was the shit.
+1
I have the best memories of playing around Heejo (and Lucky and Koman and the sarge-she-who-shall-not-be-named) as Drogan (and at least one other). One of the tops had to be busting the soldiers of His Arm about The Valley of "Should Have Sent the Byn in the First Place" when the Byn had to extract some folks from like... all of the spiders.
Also, manipura beat me to +10'ing that Rahnevyn rocked as an Imm. Just all around great times and these months are 100% the reason I kept playing Arm.
That crop of Bynners (including Niall and Pikks) that we took out on a 3 Hour Silt Cruise was definitely a lively bunch.
I've long wondered what happened to Kalila and her sister Sergeant Taleer, and their mute little brother Bish. Last I heard of Taleer was her getting bit on by a bahamet up north. I believe something came up with Kalila's player and they couldn't play for awhile (there was an IC illness rationalization) but she and my character just drifted apart. I hope they still play.
No apologies to the pickpocket who I threw off a balcony for (accidentally) insinuating that he might have known anything about Kalila's disappearance, though.
Ellandris was totally incredible, also. Whatever happened to Lady Ru? What happened to Pappintia?I think Ru stored. Pappintia, was that the bastard?
I didn't learn a single Tuluki noble name in my AoD stint but we all knew there was "a really fat one, like really fat."Didn't that guy use to ride an erdlu about pulled by its harness by his servants to keep his shoes clean? One, poor, poor, poor burgundy erdlu?
So congratulations on a world-renown sdesc/waistline.

Dragean?
I want to know who played the Bynner nicknamed "Hairdo".
Who was Kradj?
I'm curious what happened to the first few Guild figures I met:
Dealer-
Glass-Black killed her
Black- Summoned by pet Whiran/murdered
Blue - Less than a year. Stopped playing though.
I want to know who played the Bynner nicknamed "Hairdo".
I thought I remembered watching Dealer get killed by an animated noble NPC in the Gaj. No?
I want to know who played the Bynner nicknamed "Hairdo".
I think I gave him that nickname. And yes I am Canadian and the reference was to Trailer Park Boys.

My Elf had Flaire pinned for a rat the moment he met him.
AndIf Flaire was a spymaster, then Hederai Negean was an elf.
And Hederai Negean and the other Templars from that time were so badass they might have been elves.jk I liked Flaire. It's sad because the iteration of Tuluk before it closed I thought was going pretty swell. Lots of different factions vying with and against each other. Good Leaders, Great Minions.
It was the best time I've had in Arm and I had a lot of good times.
Tuluk rocked then b/c Staff had shaken things up w. the how Tuluk worked.
Tuluk rocked b/c it had such a crap reputation for RP, so the players there put on their A-game and shit was blowing up.
And i'd submit logs. but they're not taking them atm.
One day I'll post Drazen's logs.
Julien and Rhodrans trip out to the Pymlithe grove was great, as well as the hunting trips with Yasir.I forgot to respond to this, but Julisen was so hella gay that she didn't notice or understand things like that trip to the Grove, which was effectively a date. Poor Rhodran (and the other male PCs who chased after Julisen who never noticed or registered they were after her).
Who were the folks who got roads named after them in Tuluk?
I know of the Kadian that starts with a "R" is another.
Glass was murdered by Black because Shank told him to. Orders from on high. Then Black took her position. Very Armageddon chain of events.
The "rasp" "wheeeze" original Dealer was killed by a drovian. I enjoyed that dude. I loved to hang in the Guild at that time as Two.
What happened to Rythe, Stump, and Milo from the 2011ish Byn days?
And what happened to Kolo? And Torgun?
That's classic.
Comign in hot!
Ale six, it's nice to know that someone who plays this game puts that much thought and heart into their characters. And that sometimes, there really is a whole living breathing character with reasons behind certain acts.
I played a friend (?) of Ellandris Borsail, who knew about her kidnapping. It's cool to know there was a whole fleshed out character on the other end of it. Thanks.
Who were the folks who got roads named after them in Tuluk?
Roads named after people.
Radoon, Medichi, Khann, Ysania, Eldor, Piory, Chakal, Garas, Natascha, Rhydun, Sartakryn, Hekorz.
Which one's were actually players people have played with and who were they?
Mdichi and Khann of course, were legendary merchants of Kadius and Salarr respectively.
Radoon, Ysania, and Eldor were Kadians. Piory and Hekorz I -THINK- were rebels? I have no idea who the others are. Anyone care to chime in?
Drazen. Best elf, criminal, trader I have even seen, with an amazing personality.
Drazen was the greatest criminal PC I have ever played with. I am bloody glad you still play. I was Zuun/Threeleg, OOCLY I knew obv. my PC would die in Tuluk but thought I would play it out, and those times were some of the best hanging out with you.
I still grin when I think of the sloppiest murder ever committed by career criminals.
Theron just wanted her dropped into the Silt Sea (easier), but I nixed that. Felt that 1)it would be a crappy death and 2) he felt he needed to have her over for tea since she had rescinded his invitation to her birthday party. Yes, Faithful Lord Aon Uaptal (also known as Lord Templar Snorvellus Tor) had been invited to Ellandris Borsail's eighteenth birthday party. Briefly. I actually had a Tor signet ring, a medallion, and a blue templar's robe, so I had actually considered dressing up in costume and actually going. (Perhaps a...10 percent chance of success, but it would have been so epic).
So that entire plot was born, in part, solely because a character thought it would be 'funny'.
Incidentally, loved the templar scene in Tuluk at the time. Certifiably zen-scholar-badasses. Too bad what's-her-name Uaptal messed up her candidacy for Lirathan-ness with her dalliance with Theron. :(

Dusty Plains [N, E, S, W]
Strong winds, the prevailing force in this area, billow up red dust that
settles onto everything in sight. The ground is mottled with clumps of red
dirt, which the winds scatter about endlessly. According to legend, it was
just centuries ago that this land supported surprisingly abundant flora and
fauna. Today, only a few thorny plants, growing in tiny crevices, remain.

What happened to Rythe, Stump, and Milo from the 2011ish Byn days?
And what happened to Kolo? And Torgun?
Stump was played by one of my buddies outside of the game. He was up there with the best played dwarves I've ever seen, and just a vicious little double dealing bastard. I'm sure he can comment more about his end, as my own recollection is probably not fully accurate.
Pretty sure Rythe was a Byn Sergeant at that time, because I remember how enraged Takharion was at losing something like four Byn Sergeants he was dealing to try to attack that camp with just like that. ;D
Great story. Stump, you the dorf. :)
Sad to hear that's how Russ died. He was my character's only friend at the time of his death. It ended up actually leading to my character's death in a roundabout way.
Pretty sure Rythe was a Byn Sergeant at that time, because I remember how enraged Takharion was at losing something like four Byn Sergeants he was dealing to try to attack that camp with just like that. ;D
Yeah, that makes sense. Stump+Sorc wanted to kill Ryatt/Russ/Rythe so nobody competent would be able to lead the Byn on attacking the camp. ALL ACCORDING TO PLAN
Whatever happened to Beldyn? I spent so much time with that guy in Tuluk, but I never heard how he met his end.
Hey. What happened to Berk? He was this guy in Byn who was intensely anti Tuluk. My Tuluki character and Berk were pretty fun rivals. He was this very rude and coarse fellow. A true Bully of the Byn :).
Whatever happened to Beldyn? I spent so much time with that guy in Tuluk, but I never heard how he met his end.
I think he died to a Kryl.
The name Tulay is so familiar... were you Legion?
Beldyn. A couple of female bards, don't recall the names, sat around the Sanc and told folks the Beldyn was the father of another gal's child. Beldyn was not the father and got angry. In his most usual style he threatened to punch the two bards that were telling lies about him. The Bards complained to the Circle and Beldyn was forced (ordered by Lord Raleris) to apologize to the women for threatening them. (I never knew the Circle had that mush power around the Ivory) He did as ordered. Beldyn was humiliated and demoralized by having to apologize for threatening two folks that were lying about him. He decided from that day forward he would take no more orders from Lord Raleris. He went to Lord Raleris, who he had served for about 10 IC years and asked to retire from the House Winrothol. He told the Lord why as well. Lord Raleris would not let him retire because he had swore a life oath. Beldyn asked the Lord what would happen if he just left. The Lord said he would be branded as a deserter. As Beldyn would never desert and he would never take orders from the Lord again, he decided that death was his only option. He dropped his weapons and allowed Lord Raleris to slit his throat. On his knees and bleeding out, Beldyn used his last strength to salute Lord Raleris. The end. That's the way , my character, Beldyn ended. He was a fun character.
Whatever happened to Beldyn? I spent so much time with that guy in Tuluk, but I never heard how he met his end.
What happened to Youko Elkinhym and rest of the bards before the closeure?
Hey guys,
I was Moontug (so many kind words earlier in the thread. wow). Sorry I hid it from you all, I wanted to try the game as a complete newbie with no presuppositions or OOC contacts. Haven't played in a while, but thinking about starting er up again.

I sometimes wonder if the characters I remember, and wonder what ever happened... if they met the same fate.
Years of being social, roleplaying great and being amazing... dead to a bashing scrab or carru.
Loved her. Loved spying on her. Even though she betrayed my char's confidence and ratted out his fortune to the Lord Oash who...and so on.I loved him! He was such a CREEP! That first time he started waying her was quite the freak out. I wish I had the log.

Eilwen hated and feared your shadow mage, though. He was always watching, and he knew all her secrets.
Whatever happened to some vine wearing man from Luirs (tribal?) named Nuway? He lived in a tent somewhere close to the volcano'd remains of Tyn Dashra.
He also had a sunback lizard named Coco and I remember he really roleplayed loving that sunback in a way that was quite endearing.

A number of big-name PCs I know of could attest to this, even. Man.
That, or a certain issue with the build after the HRPT in 2010 in Tuluk, causing a handful of long-lived PCs to die instantaneously, without warning, and without possibility of resurrection, because instant-kill rooms were created and just had "the room over there looks like a hole, maybe?"

Oh, man. I remember losing a particularly awesome frenemy of my sorcerer to that. She was MINE to kill/save/whatever I decided to do, damn it.
Does anyone remember this family in Allanak. There was the Mother, The elder Son, and the Younger Daughter. I only remember that daughter was called "Equi". I dont recall the other names. I totally loved that family. Very very very well roleplayed out. I loved the Mother, who rped out being afraid very well. And the elder son's stubborness, and the younger daughter intelligence/malleability.
I was the dreadlocked, haggard elf (Ripples/Singer/Whatever else) who sort of ... inserted himself into the life of that family. Conspiring with Solych the Blue to scare them, then leveraging their safety. He had hopes to corrupt and recruit Equi to be his operative. But ended up storing later on.
What happened with that family in the end? Did they all die out? Store? I recall the elder son died to something stupid.
There werent movers and shakers, but very very realistic roleplay. I enjoyed watching them most thoroughly.
You played Purloiner? What happened to him?Purloiner/Voice wound up leaving UnderTuluk in a huff, living in the Mantis Valley for a good long while, finally finding some peace once he threatened to kill off Tuluki nobles if people didn't leave him alone, and eventually getting stored because Borsail reopened for play and I desperately wanted to play a Borsail noble.

And what's the deal with the dome where the Trader's Inn should be?
I was his crazy little sister, Pearl. My real name was Pasheen. As usual, I never got into trouble or did anything of significance, but I was part of why he joined the Byn with me and thus led to his becoming sargaent and getting involved in fun things. I feel a little proud of myself for that. He also had a notion of vengeance after my death. I wonder how that turned out.
And what's the deal with the dome where the Trader's Inn should be?
Trader's Inn was burned down due to player-initiated mob action. A single PC started a riot/mob/arson of the tavern, and the other PCs who were present didn't do enough to prevent the blaze from spreading, so it burned down. Later, staff built the dome there in order to provide a more central base of operations for PC templars.

I tried! My militia sergeant stood alone against the entire mob. I saw every single Trader's Inn NPC die.
The templars got him good later. Lord Templar Kitrix burned a cross into his forehead over some fabricated charge in a terrific scene. I got a lot of RP over that for the rest of Niall's life.

I remember this happening and getting so roiled about it. It always made me feel like Niall had become sullen and dis-ingenuous afterwards. Though, that might have been my PC projecting!
2) Russ - Was great to hear the story on Stump, Large Hero. He was a character that Russ wanted to trust, but never really did. Russ was as dedicated to the Byn as I think I've ever had a character. I still remember chasing Hawk...we had him but Stump seemed hesitant to jump in and Albie just didn't react fast enough. Russ was being pressured to capture Hawk for Borsail. He first tried to trick him but when the gig was up on that, that's when we chased him. And looking back, Russ kind of figured that the other guy was Nilazi. And yes, Russ was plucked out just outside of Allanka returning from some Byn thing, left way above the sinkhole to fall to his near death at the foot of some crazy hooded figure who was laughing. Then Hawk finished him off, poor Russ couldn't even move and plead for his life. He was a great character. You're all bastards!
3) Dealer - There were a number of dealers but I did play one with the Guild at the time of Broker, was the one who found him, I think. Dead from a Drovian. This Dealer would sit in the Gaj and read future for people. He was pretty good at it. He was also a spy master and a Psionicist. He was quite strong by the end and then I (the player) messed him up and accidentally wayed a Arm Soldier while his mind was cloaked...classic screw up. This was also at the time the Beast or whatever was killing in the rinth and the Guild was having problems with it. So Dealer made it look like the Beast had killed him and cloaked with his mind and walked right out of Allanak, knowing his time there was over. But he vowed to keep tabs on the Guild and help where he could. One of the imms was even helping him out with that, having one of the Guild Leaders think out her thoughts for him, was great. Then he walked into a raptor and died. Crap...if he could have set himself up somewhere, it would have been classic. Stupid little typing errors can make such a big problem.

What happened to Rythe, Stump, and Milo from the 2011ish Byn days?
What happened to Takharion anyway? I enjoying playing with this dude so much as his aide, I didnt manifest for months.
The End: No Redemption
It was dawn on Detal, the 121st day of the Descending Sun
In the Year of Jihae's Defiance, year 12 of the 22nd Age
Figuring that putting Hasan down was the only way to redeem himself for his
botched assassination attempt on Kitrix Borsail, Takharion spent the good-
will capital that he had been accumulating with Hasan through Corra to lure
him in close enough to strike. Takharion hoped that neither was aware of his
failed attempt on Kitrix. It was clear that Corra did not--she believed that
the meeting was being arranged to discuss Takharion acquiring assistance for
causing Hasan's demise.
As crazy as Ariannah's death had been driving him, Takharion was no
sorcerer's tool, and never would have used an upstart to bring about the
death of another templar. At least, he wasn't that far gone yet...
Unfortunately, Takharion's strike went directly into the sorcerer's
bodyguard, and Takharion's life was snuffed out shortly thereafter. His last
emotion was irritation, which was fitting.
Were you playing Stump? I was sooo close in figuring out you were a double agent. Even had other Byn Sargeants preparing to float false info your way and all that stuff. I dont know if that caused a move up in schedule, or I just wasnt speedy enough. But damn it. Shaze was sleuthing Stump out, but Stump made a move, killed the sarge, and escaped Allanak before I got enough to be certain.
They were dujaats. Another glorious excursion under the command of "Lord Templar Forgets-He-Can-See-In-The-Dark" (Torgun's proposed yajah name/theory behind a certain pattern of mishaps).
I do remember having a badass fight with Niall against a silt horror on the way back from that RPT; he got wrapped up there too.
We tried to save Pasheen even though she was a coked-out crazy Stormer, but were stymied by the "only one body can fit in here" code. Couldn't throw her to safety without also blocking off the tunnel.
Everyone knew Shaze was not a normal human, though. It was obvious from the way he acted.
I loved Takh.Everyone knew Shaze was not a normal human, though. It was obvious from the way he acted.
Takharion didn't ;D But then, he was pretty oblivious to things that didn't fit his view of how the world SHOULD work.

You know I loved Takh. Loved to hate him. Loved to be abused by him and to manipulate the shit out of him in pure unadulterated revengelove.
I'm still sad he got one over on us in the very end... by dying. DAMN YOU, TAKHARION!

I am still curious why Corra summoned my char to her imminent death. :P

You shared a keyword with someone extremely dangerous who she'd been ordered to kill. I felt awful.
If it makes you feel any better, it's one of the reasons I tried not to resort to summon on PCs again unless it was the only avenue that made sense.

Brutal.
I figured it was. I was devastated, considering her fight for a good life after she had left a particular group of people. HOWEVER! Rathustra did something very, very special to give me some closure.I am still curious why Corra summoned my char to her imminent death. :P

My char had a child with her in her sling who would've suffered the same fate as her mother had he not sent me a log where the child survived, by hanging in the papoose on the edge of a rock. Where he emoted a grebber finding the child and taking her with him. I sometimes still hope seeing this NPC and VNPC in game as a PC :P

Rath's fucking great. That kind of thing, is relieving, when you've lost a PC and are concerned for the vNPC life they brought into the world. Fantastical? Yes, but all the same, creates a compelling story. Better than getting tainted with a backstab while pregnant and dumped in a dried creekbed somewhere.

Above a Colossal Cavern [U, D]
A few shards of sandstone clatter into the yawning abyss below as the scarified, hard-featured man shimmies between handholds.
The scarified, hard-featured man thinks:
“Just... a lil' closer...”
Straining, the scarified, hard-featured man reaches with a calloused hand for a tattered papoose precariously dangling from a projection of stone.
There's a grinding of stone as a lump of sandstone cracks and crumbles from beneath the scarified, hard-featured man.
The scarified, hard-featured man feels his heart stop.
Gritting his teeth, the scarified, hard-featured man hops, his ragged sandcloth gear flapping in the wind.
Hitting the rock-face hard, the scarified, hard-featured man finds purchase, cutting his hands on a jagged hand-hold.
The scarified, hard-featured man thinks:
“Krath...”
A small noise from the papoose attracts the scarified, hard-featured man's attention and his expression shifts from pain to wonderment.
Reaching out as far as he can, the scarified, hard-featured man takes a tattered papoose, quickly bundling it against himself and the wall.
The scarified, hard-featured man looks inside a tattered papoose, his eyes widening noticably.
The scarified, hard-featured man thinks:
“I don't fuckin' believe it...”
Shhing the papoose, the scarified, hard-featured man begins to climb towards a nearby platform and his waiting scavenging gear.
Quickly scooping it from the papoose, the scarified, hard-featured man soaks a bit of sandcloth in water and offers it to the sunburnt child, which suckles greedily.
Showing surprising tenderness, the scarified, hard-featured man brushes back the child's hair and squints up towards the gash of light overhead.
The scarified, hard-featured man mutely watches the child suck the sandcloth dry, his windswept visage indecisive.
The scarified, hard-featured man sighs and offers the child a wry, world-weary smile, slipping it back into the papoose, which he slips over his shoulder before taking to the wall, climbing toward the light...
Good luck with your next character.
Rathustra
I should play more memorable characters.
Rathustra is actually the top rated staffer over on the shadowboards.
That is quietly stellar. *slow clap*
I should play more memorable characters.
The thing is, for every badass leader type character that everyone loves, you need five or six people like Coira and others who get shit done so said great guy or girl can get to the nitty gritty of driving mad plotz.

Whatever happened to Koranth Tor? He executed my Nilazi, and I never found out what happened to him. That was a sweet scene, and I think we traded Kudos after it.
What ever happened to the Tor noble, from 2010, that we made that metal thing for? I can't remember their name, unfortunately.
I think all of that is kosher to ask about, now...
Rathustra is actually the top rated staffer over on the shadowboards.
Not that it's a competition, but some guys are just THE GM. They're always that role and it fits them like a glove, and they tend to excel a head above the rest. That person on Arm is Rathustra. With his imagination, he should be writing books instead of wasting away on the Internet, but hey, I bet a lot of Armers fall into that mold.
I played Koranth Tor, thanks for having a fond memory of him! I think he executed a few Nilazi so feel bad to admit that I'm not sure which you are speaking of. I know there was one that Koranth burned to death, that was a pretty neat scene.

Lord Mallor Tor died in a fire.
I believe thecrematoriumpyre was Mallor's idea, but I am not sure there was a designated cremation area, simply that it was done for particular Scorpions.
Personally my Tor dude was all down for getting cremated, but then he outlived Mallor and a few other people.

There was supposed to be a designated cremation area, that's what I'm saying. Mallor commissioned my character to make it. I designed it, and it was in the process of being build ICly (my Kadian Merchant PC brought in a bunch of onyx stones and I dropped them with ldescs to indicate slaves were building them into a thing). I had acquired the rubies necessary to do the inlay of crimson scorpions along the edges of the slab, I wrote up the mdesc, sdesc, approximate weight (flagged as immobile), value, everything. I submitted it as a mastercraft, and had received feedback. And then nothing for awhile, a few RL weeks later stuff happened and I stored. The item was never implemented even though virtually it was being worked on.

Were you the nilazi who had the rukkian boyfriend?
That particular nilazi had a very spooky death scene.
What about that old wizened Dasari lord back in 2012(?)?
I mean, I miss Nilazi too, but that sort of stuff could have happened with just about any gicker.

Not sure. You mean the Nilazi elf? He was mentioned a few times when I played an Akei in '07-'08 but then I never heard about him again. Stare of Many Faces met with him a few times, but Stare's player doesn't play Arm anymore, afaik.

b) Are over a year old

Raleris was pretty cool. I bet he lived so long because he had a food-taster, because he wasn't one of those sit around and do nothing people.
Additionally, he badmouthed the Order of Lirathu to Lyvren the Blue, and associated with magickers in his capacity as a Kuraci. Not a healthy thing to do when you're a Tuluki.Lyvren and Qoriya's minor friendship was the best thing ever.

So is the original submissions request working? I'd like to submit logs but some are saying it doesn't work, so what should I do?
On second thought, maybe it's the wrong place to ask this question.

Since it's been over a year, I always wondered: during that big HRPT battle where we moved on Ten'Serak(?) or whatever, do you'all remember when the main army breaks its march upon seeing a magicker all in flames resting in the desert there? And we just slaughtered the shit out of it. I always wandered: was this a PC who had just gone AFK in the wrong spot?

Dragean Tenneshi? Rode a ratlon around because he couldn't walk far?
I think Tasok stored and had a retirement party because he won Armageddon. He was alive when I started my first character, up until just one or two years ago.
Yes, this is correct. What fun stories he had!
I've played Shaze. Let's just say that his service got him so involved in things magickal, that bad things were simply bound to happen. One way, or other. Shaze was during a very rare period in my life where I actually had 'time' to play. It was my second Aide character in my entire gameplay. (...) I thoroughly enjoyed playing with Takharion. So much, that I havent manifested as a Nilazi for many rl months, pretty much the entirety of his service to Takharion. Only when my IRL respite was ending and I knew I will become very very scarce and too rare to be an affective aide, I've actually allowed myself to manifest and well ... the rest I'll keep unknown.
Kolo is still too recent, my friend! She got old as dirt.
the something, snaggly-toothed man was the first memorable pc I ever interacted with, in Tuluk. God, I wish Tuluk weren't closed.
This guy seemed to get the drift that I was relatively new. He occasionally taught me without being obvious about it. He was a subsistence clay grebber who was on the lookout for Kadian hunter openings and eventually snagged one. He ate erdlu stew at the Kadian bar, while I lived on milk. He was so happy to snag the position. He had a lot of energy. He didn't tell me which position he had gotten but it was probably hunter, most of them are. I wonder whether he died to animals, or died to the flood. I died to the flood; well, specifically, to leaving tuluk in the middle of the flood. I wonder if anyone remembers my stupid breed.
This is going waaaaay back but whatever happened to Two-Noose Tanoske? (spelled?) He was this Kadius dude with a ponytail back in like, uh, 2005-6? Maybe? I don't have any logs from back then? I couldn't sleep last night and he popped into my mind and I was like damn that dude was fun.

I don't remember that, but you can probably help me remember who that Kadian was...Silif? Does that sound right?
We all know the OG Fat Man (Cammul Tenneshi) was the real boss.
What ever happened to that Kadian Assassin...Seif? Sulif?
What happened to Gibs, the blue-skinned man, a Salarri hunter?
And is this Cammul Tenneshi the same one who wrote that play called, "Dog and Man" or something like that?

I am pretty sure you are thinking of Seulif? He was like this ancient Tuluki PC who worked for Kadius and then also Salarr for a bit? He was very well played. He was like the fuzzy-headed or escru-headed man or something? Is that the dude? If I recall correctly, he was found dead on the streets of Allanak and Kadius accused Salarr of orchestrating his murder. Midge of Salarr was accused of hiring someone to kill him or having her hunters kill him or something, but she loved that dude so no way jose. He quit Salarr but she let him go on good terms and they remained friends right up until he was found dead, so it really bummed her out that someone apparently convinced Sharlo she murdered him!
I am not sure how he actually died apart from Salarr definitely didn't do it! Also I'm unsure if Kadius actually believed Salarr did it or if someone was just trying to pressure Salarr through Kadius with a backroom alliance because boy oh boy did Salarr have a lot of enemies at the time.
Man Allanaki politics were great at that point in time. I have only ever played one character that even brushed that level of politicking and alliance making/breaking and marriage-arranging and marriage-unarranging and betraying. It's really exhausting and takes a huge time commitment but merchant politics in Arm can be top dang notch.
We have logs of him and the play somewhere?
Speaking of which, what happened to that player/character who referenced that play in the last bardic contest in Tuluk before the city closed for play?
Whatever happened to the "dusty" something man who would troll Torgun on a semi-annual basis? I seem to recall the first meeting being over Dusty pickpocketing some gloves or something. He threw some pocket sand in to Torgun's face (giving me a "handful of colorful sand") and ran off in a fun chase around town.
Another time, at a Kadian party in the Red's, Dusty pick-pocketed Torgun's helm out of his lap and gave it to the beggar outside.

What happened to Merchant Ita of Salarr?
She donated a massive amount of coins to Poet's Circle (she was an Apprentice bard, I want to say Irofel).
Is it bad I went through here just to see if I was mentioned?

This is All I've done, and in vain, I might add. Huge ego killer.
I played Mallor. The Pyre wasn't being built in the Academy. It was in the courtyard outside, in front of the large double gates.
I didn't exactly die in a fire - I was killed by a fire elemental during the events that occurred around the volcano rising outside of Allanak. I've lost all of my logs and every scrap of information I had on Mallor, unfortunately.
Also, I had no metal weapon. That was a copper spear commissioned by Khem Tor at some point in my lifetime. I don't know if she got it before I died, because I can't remember if I ever saw it or not.
onyx-sclera'd, whip-tailed buggaboo
OK, a couple people asked in this thread and I felt up to typing a bit of it out, so here's the super abridged story of Midge, former feral bush kid turned eventual Salarr Agent.
Jik-Tanil was a tribal kid who got separated from her family at a super young age and raised herself in the bush like Mowgli. She just ran around in a loincloth and a spear for the first while I played her because 1) I was playing my first ranger!!! and 2) I wanted to try Hard Mode. After a few IC months of this, she acquired enough basic gear to interact with people, and I decided to take her into Allanak for the first time.
Apparently she wandered into Allanak just as news had broken that some Muarki had been murdered, and the first thing that happens to her is that a templar shakes her raggedy ass down and more or less accuses her of murdering the gypsy. She doesn't speak great sirihish and is terrified and just kind of gives him all her money and runs away. The templar and a noble (I want to say it was a Borsail? This was ten years ago...) corner her in the Bard's Barrel and try to press-gang her into work. Again, she is a feral just-about-nonverbal bush child.
At that point, someone in the bar mentions that a guy called Khortoc Salarr is hiring hunters. She decides to lie because maybe if she Works For Someone, they'll leave her alone. It works. She tells them she works for Salarr. The templar and noble let her go. The noble makes her hilariously sit at his table and fidget a bunch while he drinks, though. Good on that guy.
A while later, she ran into Khortoc Salarr, and broken-englishly explained that he HAD to hire her because it was IMPORTANT.
... Fast forward thirty years...
Anyway, yeah, she was a fun PC. Since she eventually became literate, there's a whole bunch of her IC journals still floating around in game, or at least they were last time I encountered some. I've thought about posting them on the Logs section but they go into some stuff that's frankly still pretty IC so I dunno.
Someone asked how she died, and again, I think it's still a little too IC to get into here, but she left Salarr under pretty hilarious circumstances.
There was this guy, Rance Kurac, who was her stoner bro, and everybody thought they were a couple, so when she got knocked up actually-by-her-mindbender-boss, they decided to pretend the baby was the Kuraci's. He drove Kurac's most expensive wagon off a cliff and got in a lot of trouble sometime around then. They tried to murder-corrupt-betray themselves out of some shit they got into. Midge really cared about being able to have a human baby because at one point in her life she got impregnated by a bug NPC and had to have grubs dug out of her. Then someone threw the grubs down a steam vent in Allanak and she felt emotionally attached to them, so after that she decided she needed a kid to help her get over the loss of her grub-children.
During all this, the House Head of Salarr offered her I think 45,000 coins and a marriage into the family if she killed this other NPC, Raital Salarr. She hated Raital's guts but in the end she couldn't kill him because he helped Khortoc the mindbender escape from some shit, and she was pretty loyal in that way.
So instead she and Rance fucked off into the desert as outlaws for a while until ~~things happened~~ and she had a really cool death. Later on a future PC of mine found what I think was the SKELETON OBJECT OF HER BABY.
That was kind of disjointed but I have sadly forgotten a lot of the details and I don't have access to my logs right now! Ask away if anyone has any specific questions.
Before this thread gets hijacked, I'll put it back on the rails. Whatever happened to Danashj? I was playing Hurlen-da Kurac at the time and it was very early on when I wasn't sure who he was, yet. We talked quite a lot over the Way and I think it helped me get a sense of who he was and then she just kind of vanished. If I recall she was Koranth's aide and that was a scary spot to be.
She survived Koranth and stored a little while later. Maybe her player can shed more light; I hope they did well in Virtual land. I always enjoyed our scenes together when I wasn't scared shitless by her boss.
I then went on to play several sub-1 day rangers because holy crap am I bad at that class! ;D

I also think you got to be the first AoD recruit I "interviewed" by threatening to throw off the City Wall somewhere in there.
Drazen's one of the best city elves I've ever encountered. I had an absolute blast playing with him. I totally owe you a kudo.
Damn straight, I also got the best ooc lol I think the game has even given me from a scene with Drazen involving the unearthing of a particular statue with sharp ears.
Templars are here
Dudes are here
the sole elf is here
one of the crowd says 'is that statue an elf?'
Templars are here.
Dudes are here.
*a strange shadow*
I was his crazy little sister, Pearl. My real name was Pasheen. As usual, I never got into trouble or did anything of significance, but I was part of why he joined the Byn with me and thus led to his becoming sargaent and getting involved in fun things. I feel a little proud of myself for that. He also had a notion of vengeance after my death. I wonder how that turned out.
Whatever happened to Grieves, the dastardly scoundrel who did Barzel in?
Pure irony of Zalanthas is I think Silteye died from terrain poisoning (from cleaning fluid) if memory serves.
Whatever happened to Holten Irofel? And Methyas Groot?
Methyas got summoned and pked by magickers. I believe they were pals of the Plainsman.
whatever happened to a sorcerer named the Rogue Templar?
He constantly misspelled it Rouge Templar when he introduced himself, had a tattered blue templar's robe, and I think he had a black beard. He hung out with the Plainsman a lot.

Whatever happened to SMuz? That guy used to post a mile a minute.
It definitely makes me understand why people are never like "What ever happened to Riev's characters?". I mean. I never even APPROACH the level of some of the players here.
That one time? Where I had a cool Legionnaire? And I did NOTHING with it? ... Ugh.
I remember your last Legionniare who was a Byner and Salarri hunter before becoming a solider on two characters, one which was in House Salarr (Zenthar). I think it was Tulay was the other one, though I might be recalling someone else.

If you played Gavin Riev I can't believe you don't remember my favorite character. Lefty, you single handedly trained that HG into a beast.

It came Southside for a bit of Social RP and got picked up by an angry Templar.
Probably got banged by someone important. Which war was it?
That's certainly fall under "Banging someone important." But I don't really consider her to be down during a war.
That's what she said
HEYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Edit: In all honestly what did happen to Sera? Last I remember was dropping them off in Morin's.
I could be wrong, too. Or just a bad sense of time. I THINK I knew her on Rush, but Rush also survived quite a while so its entirely possible its been the year.
Alright, to whoever played that bowl-cut haired Templar: Well done, seriously well done. You played out the craziest, power hungriest Blue Robe Allanak has ever seen, and I loved your character to death. Serious kudos to that player.
Wow. You?!
If Bowl Cut hadn't been blackout drunk and murdery in regards to Samim that would have been the turning point for her to flip to the dark side. She was a devout and loyal descendant of a Tor officer who enlisted in AoD, then was asked to aide. But she was also a subguild sorcerer. There had been no IC reason for her to pursue learning spells, she never even tried or knew she could, and she'd never considered a Templar could ever be wrong.Alright, to whoever played that bowl-cut haired Templar: Well done, seriously well done. For that matter: What ever happened to that Crazy-fuck bowl-cut haired Templar's Aide? That guy was pretty awesome for an aide, and I've always been disappointed that I kept trying to pin shit on him that I knew wouldn't stick.
If it makes you feel better Is Friday I haven't really played the game since I stored.Heh, yeah, that experience kind of killed it for me for a bit. I took a break and haven't felt the magick since then. Had a string of unsatisfying deaths prior to that one. You know how it is.
I still think Koranth was more balls out crazier but Lord Templar Bowlcut definitely reminded me of him. Fortunately I didn't have to work for both of you.

Thanks! Koranth was lots of fun to play.
Balthazar was intense and a lunatic. His aides (all three of them) were brave people to play around him to such an intimate degree. In some cases, they were also dead people.
Apologies for all the casualties. The world is harsh and cruel and unfair.

I totally loved Balthazar. Even if I was beginning a plot of framing him for the assassination of a Fale Lord. I was doing research on this virtual fale that died for some whatever unrelated someone elses plot reasons in order to find stuff I could use to frame Balthazar with, but stuff happened and I had to skip town.
That fale's favorite food was a dish of erdlu wings :D.
Hey it's now officially been more than a year since Kolo, I'll have to post something when I'm not on my phone.
For that matter: What ever happened to that Crazy-fuck bowl-cut haired Templar's Aide? That guy was pretty awesome for an aide, and I've always been disappointed that I kept trying to pin shit on him that I knew wouldn't stick.
Well met, sandwich man!
Ratface definitely was in the mindset of "this aide is either too big for his britches, thinking he can control a Templar, or he really IS able to influence a Templar, which makes him dangerous".
I loved that he was one of the few people who understood "taking business into the alleys" and that it wasn't an outright death sentence to go in there. He was willing to "learn" and picked up on things very quickly.
Ratface just didn't want to give up his favorite toy (the assassin that managed to kill a noble) and unfortunately, that toy let slip some damning information. I HAD to play Ratface true to character, which was to try and protect his assets and pin it on someone else, despite the fact that NOBODY EVER believed Alme was behind any of it. And as I've mentioned to people before, he'd probably STILL be alive if I, as a player, kept to the idea that Guild Bosses should stay in the alleys. I was bored and wanted some RP sessions, so I went to meet with someone southside and got caught.
As a player, I never believed Alme would get blamed for the assassination, but Ratface thought if he made the story believable enough, there would be some doubt, and he wouldn't have to give up his toy.
Clearly Laura is the best at crazy.
he created bonkers conflict and kept everyone anxious and alarmed.
Not as many people caught onto the whole 'Balthazar can be manipulated!' thing as I'd hoped. I guess they were scared to try it. Understandable. But Alme was fantastic at it, and was a perfect lackey in general. His willingness to play the 'straight man', obsequious toady, and act as a buffer between the public and a dangerous nutcase was nothing short of heroic.
Only Alisima Oash (who was an out of this world character too OH YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW /craigmiddlebrooks) really understood the relationship between Alme and Balthazar. But she knew Balthazar better than anyone.
The water witch elf? I got him killed for being a home-wrecking necker.
The water witch elf? I got him killed for being a home-wrecking necker.
Did not. ;)
He was my first ever PK, albeit by proxy. See above and the hair-playing.
Also The Wanderer, the amount of OOC frustration and rage I experienced when Valorisk got snuffed was extreme. I was legit so mad, I actually cried. They had such a great rivalry. Practically every scene together was electricity and scary conflict. I was sad to see it end (and even sadder that I had nothing to do with it.)

Alme, you were supposed to fill those vials with Aide Aida's tears! (Love, Big Bush.)
Someday I'll share more, but I just want to add to the accolades. Valorisk+Alisima+Balthazar... Holy shit you guys. Thank you for the amazing fun.
Also Alme and Ratface...someone did think it was possible and was hunting.
Looking out over the city as she leans back against him, seeming much more relaxed than before, Alisima whispers to the sallow, bowl-shorn templar in sirihish:
"You're mine, Balthazar. I'll paint it on your chest if you need reminding, but you're mine. I protect what's mine."
The sallow, bowl-shorn templar runs his fingers through the whip-thin, kanjel-eyed teen's hair, exhaling a sigh that ruffles the back of her loosened locks.
Alisima thinks:
"My Templar. My Aide. My Circle. Mine. My City."
Balthazar thinks:
"You can't protect me from everything."
Alisima thinks:
"even if I have to protect you from yourself."
Aww, you were Big Bush? (hug with hearts) I loved that character!I loved her more.
I had the lavender-haired half-elf once. I forgot her name. Her eyes were somewhat shaped like an elf's, with a black-blue color, but the rest of her looked human.
She was a pickpocket/stonecrafter and spent 99% of her time conversing with people in a disjointed way that was totally disconnected from reality. Like Silteye's sister basically, I played her too. I remember one thing Pearl/Pasheen said, that (something something something) and the sky wouldn't stop bleeding.
The half-elf herself died up in Tuluk despite being a 'naki to using kick by accident in a tavern brawl in whatever the cheap tavern was called. Someone said ooc: I would suggest running. Good times.
Did Jarls die of boredom in Storm after killing all those people?
Did Jarls die of boredom in Storm after killing all those people?
Jarls lived for fucking ever, did a bunch of stuff, then I quit the game for a while and ended up storing him when I came back cause he was a million years old.

Whatever happened to Albie?
Speaking of Half-giants. What happened to Henn after Pip died?
Lots of the old crew from the era, I already know the endings of, but -
early 06 - late 07 end of the world times:
Expansion Division - Bryn? Hawk? Arun? I know Bryn wound up in Tuluk, and I know Arun we SUSPECTED of being a traitor.
Serba?
Venom?
Deadeye? (I know there've been several; this one was of the less-than-savory celf persuasion.)
We had cut some deal with the d-elf Pah dudes, so I was "safe" in the d-elf outpost, but I got bored one day and flew to Tuluk.
I interacted with Pip across two of my characters. Pip was great. I played Dryl the dwarf that...
Also I played Aray...
edited for IC infoz by Delirium and briefed by Stark.
This has already been mentioned before but I can't go through all 30 pages so maybe someone can update me.
Does anyone know what happened to the Pale, sable-haired woman (I think that was her sdesc). I think she was an Elkinhym bard but I feel like I met her over so many characters, she always seemed fun and up to mischief. I remember once she roped a freshly-made character of mine into a prank which involved her hiding in her friend's room and then trying to convince her it wasn't her apartment.
It hadn't been a year yet. Now it has.Glass was murdered by Black because Shank told him to. Orders from on high. Then Black took her position. Very Armageddon chain of events.Shank was a brilliant staple too. I went through a few rinthers in a row, and heard this one story he used to tell about a stolen sword and a crazy woman just as many times.
Whatever happened to Shank?
And the Dealer before Glass was a short guy -- he ran with a guy named Gantz, Gentz? I was one of their whores.
Unfortunately it didn't.This has already been mentioned before but I can't go through all 30 pages so maybe someone can update me.

Shank was a Rinthi mul assassin that I made specifically to avoid high-profile/leader roles, because I figured he'd be a little too thick/temperamental to promote to a leadership position. I was wrong - he joined the Guild thanks to Broker, the slurp-tastic disfigured freak who was the ranking Guild PC at the time and was amazing. He carried a little spoon he'd eat soup with, and since he was missing part of his cheek and his teeth were exposed, half of it would run out back into his bowl. I loved that dude. Then there was the rest of the crew - Dealer and a number of others, some of whom might be alive but not playing, so I'll refrain from mentioning.
Broker died, Dealer and Shank pulled double-duty as leaders. Dealer ran the public stuff, Shank ran the Rinth side. Shank hired two ruffians out of the Byn named Plague and Gantz who were two of the best Rinthi scumbags anyone could ask for. Then I had life issues, which happened a few times in Shank's life, and when I came back, things were topsy turvy. Dealer died, Plague got promoted, Plague died, and some chick named Glass was in the Guild now, and acting like she was in charge--and also double-dealing with the Templarate. She had a small crew that were loyal to her. So Shank told Black, hey, you take care of this Glass problem, you move up. He did, and Shank kept his word. Black got murdered, Shank was de facto in charge again, Blue came around. Blue came in charge, then quit playing.
Shank played a long, long time in a desolate empty westside Rinth (or at least desolate and empty as I was now offpeak), unable and unwilling to leave it because it's home and the Guild is his family, and I got bored. I stored him for another role.
Edit to add: Shank kept pieces of all of his favourite members of the crew. He had Broker's spoon, one Dealer's cards, Plague's earring, <Redacted because unsure if people knew he was in the Guild>'s ring, and <Redacted also's> bandana all in a pouch on his person. He also only ever killed 3 PCs, one of whom was the crazy woman nauta mentioned. The story was 100% true.
Youko was her name.

Also, I loved Pip and Henn.

Shank was pretty cool :). I was that tribal that just hang around that awesomesauce wheezy/slurpy dude for no obvious reason. Had life issues/tribe responsibilities as well, but what little time I've managed to spend with you guys was totally awesome.

And suddenly it all makes sense. You have no idea the abject confusion this caused certain parties.
Whatever happened to that Net-patterned half giant from days long ago? He had a serious grudge against all elfs and I played alot of shifty characters at that time. He used to chase my ass all over the city, I remember getting serious OOC anxiety when I spotted him down the street after a certain amount of time went on like this. lol
I remember I crit failed on someone and my 'not-so-mundane' identity got revealed. Thankfully it was some Red Stormer Half Giant raider. So I'm walking along the tradesman street, all wondering on what to do about it and there stands Balthazar. You! Come with me!
Holy fucking shit, that was fast! I fumble along with him to his dome meeting place expecting to get me head ripped off and it's just an info shake down. Ooooopphhhhhhh. I remembered this moment IRL where I think to myself, "I should probably start breathing again."

Ooh I was that Red Stormer Half Giant raider. Tosser.
(Of course you didn't get outed by a random HG)
Mined witches was the reason he always carried a pickaxe, after he was eventually told about them.
Bio entry 5:
I have a lotta spice and it must be the best because I always want to have more if I don't have more I feel sick and bad. That is because spice is good.
I sometimes say hello to people and ask them for some coins and sometimes they are not dumb and give me some and sometimes they are and run away and that means I will not ask them for coins next time I will get the stuff because I am smart.
I have a lotta stuff and pals but a lot get eaten by beetles but that is okay because that is how the known works. Some slavers Yellow-Hair Man and a dwarf called Grond came to Storm and said they wanted to catch muls and make them slaves again and I made them scared because I got mad and they didn't come to fight they musta gone a different way. I gotta look after my mul Stormer pals. I will kill those slavers if they come back by being big and hurting them.
A lotta people know me now and say hello Tosser and then I say yes I am Tosser, I am a stuff getter. Some people said I was a raider but they are dumb because raiders are bad and I am a good person stuff getter and smarter than them because I am better at not getting eaten.
Submit stuff and I will pick and choose stuff so people know how great Northlands and Team Evershine was.
The space between the two front lines was entirely closed off, but could be fallen into - the fall was one-way - there was no way to climb back out.
Brutal.
<.< I'm glad that damn spell is long gone.
Whatever happened to that gaggle of Wind Gickers who were messing w. the SLK for like 2 months in 2011? There were 3 (?) Us and the Arabet got 2 (least I think 1 was a wind witch...). It was super fun. No gank summons. Just good RP.
And Pitch. What happened to Pitch? Lusts nearly PK'd him in the Pah during the start of the Asil shitstorm...
Whatever happened to Lady Ru? What happened to Pappintia?
What happened to Marisan(SP), the Kadian Merchant? Did he really die of old age?
I never saw him show up, even though Puppy was sitting on the bench, which faced the balcony which he must have climbed up in order to reach her. I never had a chance to type "look figure." I checked back on the log, and there's absolutely nothing there. The guy wasn't there, then all of a sudden he was attacking her (or she?) and then she was dead.
The way everyone interacted during that time period was fun as heck. I think most nights I wanted to smack the lot of you in the back of the head and hug everyone equally. I was pretty disappointed when I didn't see Ru around anymore, but RL happens. Loved that hair, doll.

Maristen.

I checked back on the log, and there's absolutely nothing there. The guy wasn't there, then all of a sudden he was attacking her (or she?) and then she was dead.
Why must the killer have climbed up the balcony?
She was on the balcony of Red's, just chillin out by herself, sitting on the bench. The curtain was closed. She'd been parked there for several minutes. I was alt-tabbing to check out a website at the time, back and forth every 10-20 seconds. I tabbed back to the game and noticed a hooded figure was attacking her. By the time I had a chance to type "stand" it was all over. I never saw him show up, even though Puppy was sitting on the bench, which faced the balcony which he must have climbed up in order to reach her. I never had a chance to type "look figure." I loved Maristen. A sensitive soul. Glad I convinced him to leave the Byn (hah!) and join Kadius! My PC didn't help Maristen very much, but Mari had the best mentor you could ask for in Macian. What a fool I was for not playing with Maristen and Macian more! Sadly, my PC was too busy being a crazy person and a pawn of nobles and templars. Getting Way'd by Qoriya wasn't a comfortable experience, let me tell ya.

Why must the killer have climbed up the balcony?
Because she closed the curtain when she got there. So he was either already there and hiding on an open balcony with no place to actually be hidden in broad daylight, or he climbed up after she got there, also in broad daylight with no way for someone to miss someone climbing over a balcony to stand right in front of them. Though upon further thought, it could've been something magic.

Latch wasn't a command then.
Omitted in my initial post and conveniently left disabled in the first push yesterday... mea culpa.
Delays are now applied to 'slip', 'palm', 'unlatch', and 'latch'.
As with most new features, I try to balance out positives with negatives so that players need to make choices. Here's one in the interest of time vs. stealth.
I hope that this will dissuade those folks who are aliasing their 'get', 'put', 'open', and 'close' commands to their stealthy equivalents from doing so. I find this practice wrong for many reasons, but perhaps coded delays will make those folks think twice about what it really means is happening IC.
Whatever happened to the Guild Leader that Ratface took OVER for? The wide shouldered one that said " fokin' " all the goddamned time?
Apparently, as with all things, I came in right at the end of a really awesome crew of people, and I wasn't "in the know" enough to figure out what actually happened with them all. Just that they died, and I was left with nothing.

Even though many PCs with whom I spent more time with have come and gone, when Maristen passed something went out of the game for me. My PC might talk to him once a month but he was just always there, and it's still sad that he's not.
(grins) We'll bump into each other again sometime, maybe Refugee. That's the best part of this game. It's like meeting the same person as they reincarnate (even though they might came back really, really different). He left the game, I'm still wandering around in it. <3
My character wanted to stay pretty far from yours, Friday. He thought she was pretty unpredictable and potentially crazy. ...
I feel like I remember the name Maristen. Was he ever inside a wagon that got crashed by certain poorly shouted directions?
I feel like that was the guy piloting. But I might be remembering
wrong.
The only thing that would have shocked me more is if you'd have all picked up some furniture and walked out.
Was Maristen your first PC, WithSprinkles?
Yeah, he was.
Firmly, you close the curtain.
You say to the short, slender man, in sirihish:
"Now they're all gossiping down there that I'm up here violating you."
The short, slender man laughs and presses a hand to his mouth.
With a rolling shrug, settling herself on the bench, you exclaim to the short, slender man, in sirihish:
"Oh well!"
You sit on a small, black marble bench.
The short, slender man says, in sirihish:
"Would that be so ba -- "
The short, slender man cuts himself off.
Blushing, the short, slender man says, in sirihish:
"Apologies."
Waving to the seat beside her, quirking a brow at him, you say to the short, slender man, in sirihish:
"Oh my. I think you just flirted with me."
The short, slender man sits on a small, black marble bench.
At your seat, you say in sirihish, her serious expression broken by a laugh:
"That's adorable. I always thought you liked men best, though. I mean - that was the impression I got. I guess I could be wrong."
At your seat, the short, slender man says in sirihish, shyly:
"It's not very proper for me to do so. I'm always very aware of your dignity."
At your seat, the short, slender man says in sirihish, continuing softly:
"And I am fond of both men and women, I suppose. I just do not often speak up about what I want."
At your seat, you say in sirihish, leaning her back against the sun-warmed stones of the building, looking at the short, slender man, maybe a bit shyly:
"I don't mind if you flirt. I think it's cute. And honestly, you are awfully pretty for a commoner."
The giant red sun sets over Allanak's west wall.
At your seat, the short, slender man says in sirihish, smiling with slightly flushed cheeks:
"Thank you. It's never with disrespect. I have liked and respected you a long while."
At your seat, you say in sirihish, tucking a stray curl behind her ear as she looks at the short, slender man:
"I've liked you for a long while, too. But I just never acted on it. I didn't want to complicate things for us."
The short, slender man glances out over the view with the setting sun and the fading light catches highlights in his dark hair as he turns back to smile at you.
At your seat, you say in sirihish, her own sun-browned cheeks flushing a bit as she looks at the short, slender man:
"You make it difficult to be resolute, sometimes."
At your seat, the short, slender man says in sirihish:
"I'm happy that you know. At least I was able to say this. And share it with you."
Feeling uneasy memories, you think:
"I don't want things to be complicated."
At your seat, you say in sirihish, looking quickly down at her knees:
"Once I loved a commoner boy. He was my age. And he played the lute so nicely, and had lovely golden curls."
The short, slender man tilts his head at you.
At your seat, you say in sirihish, her tone wryly honest, as she sneaks peeks at the short, slender man from time to time:
"And then another noble hired him, and tried to use him as a political lever against me, and he got scared, and ran away to the labyrinth and was killed."
At your seat, you say in sirihish, leaning her head back against the wall:
"I was a wreck about it. If something like that happened to you, I would feel even worse."
At your seat, you say in sirihish, reaching out a hand to tuck a lock of the short, slender man's hair behind his ear:
"This Axhimas thing is making me think it's all my fault, somehow, if I didn't like you so much, this wouldn't have happened."
You feel the troubled sensation of guilt that powerful people feel when their lives warp the very balance of reality around them.
You think:
"And normally you don't see it. But then one day you notice it."
At your seat, the short, slender man says in sirihish, quietly:
"Oh.. I see. It's horrible you had to go through that and that it is a reality of the world we live in. Lady Consul, I will tell you something I was told when I loved someone once before.."
At your seat, the short, slender man says in sirihish:
"It hurts to hear and I was so mad at him when he said it but.. Someday, I might die. I know, being the strong smart woman you are, you know that. "
At your seat, the short, slender man says in sirihish:
"If and when that happens, I will be happy knowing that I told you. And I feel wonderful knowing you think of me as yours."
The short, slender man winks.
Feeling your heart melt, you think:
"Awww."
At your seat, you say in sirihish, her expression shifting to display a delighted sweetness at the short, slender man's words:
"You're such a dear."
You think:
"Oh, I will cry if Axhimas kills him! I'll cry and then I'll MURDER HER."
Maristen and Macian were joys to play with.Echo.
You think:
"Oh, I will cry if Axhimas kills him! I'll cry and then I'll MURDER HER."
[/color]Balthazar thinks:
"Sapphire, I won't forsake you. Perhaps a private ceremony."
Such amazing stories.
A certain swirl-inked half-elven tribal always wondered what became of Bam, the dark, escru-haired female, Gutter, the scarred, ratty-haired woman and Broken Wing of the Sun Runners (Ir'anaza) the skeletal, scarred elf.
Omar, haha. He had such a hard time in Tuluk. Salarr had to pay a lot for his stupid mistakes.
Whatever happened to Murdle?
I actually picked up a mannerism IRL from Murdle that I use all the time.
Whenever my cat comes into the room I look at him and go, "Hellows!"
I was playing a stump Legionnaire at the time. Murdle came into Tuluk and attacked the NPC guard outside the Sanctuary. Or maybe it was an NPC templar there, I don't remember. Anyway, NPCs and PCs alike cut him down. I got in the killing blow. I thought it was sort of poignant since my earlier PC, Sergeant Niall, had been so close with Murdle.
The IC story is that he was transferred back to Yaroch.
No regrets, other than the fact that players didn't kill him.
I'm proud I kicked off this thread. My child grows steadily.

I died right after you did, man. I could've probably escaped, but ... I was in a bit of a shock. I think if the three of us didnt die, we'd probably be ruling Allanak right now. Tektolnes can go suck a pipe.
Balthazar you are one of the craziest mother fuckers I've ever met and seen.
Your diaries are even more crazy.
I love i t.
I can't remember who played Akasha but I enjoyed interacting with the sergeant. I still remember her death in the canyons west of the Nak.
In all honestly what did happen to Sera? Last I remember was dropping them off in Morin's.
Grir and his crush on Sera were hilarious! I loved playing with you too. She wound up in the oddest pairings sometimes, likely because she was such an outsider herself.
I also read about Wanderer on this thread earlier and I'd always wondered what happened to him. Always fokin fun to play with!

@yasir lyksae
whatever happened to tithian's bathtub
lol, this sounds like a story worth telling.
Time to tell the story.
Lord Usurer Tithian Kassigarh, who was totally beloved and definitely not despised by anyone, received a giant marble bathtub as a gift from Raleris Winrothol. Tithian, being really disgustingly rich, already had one of the nicest bathrooms in Tuluk and did not need a giant marble bathtub.
Because Faithful Lord Yasir Lyksae was generally furious with Tithian at any given time for slights real or perceived, Tithian had the (very large and heavy) tub delivered to Yasir. This of course mad Yasir very mad. Almost as mad as the time Tithian sent him a pair of fine silk pantaloons.
If memory serves, Yasir had the tub deposited back in the courtyard of the Kassigarh estate, only for Tithian to gift the tub to Yasir a second time at some point near the end of playable Tuluk.
Tithian had a habit of giving his enemies very expensive gifts in the hopes that it would win some of them over, and make the others feel maybe a tinge guilty for obstructing him.
That's certainly fall under "Banging someone important." But I don't really consider her to be down during a war.

Zalanthan-style romance can add interest if done right, but fuck mudsex (lol). Ain't nobody got time for that!
I mean... romance led to one of the most epic betrayals I've ever pulled off. Sorry, Moraz. I'm not sorry.

(laughs) I'd wondered who was behind the screen on that one. Glad to see it was yet another vet and I'm glad I got to play with you!
It isn't -quite- how your character might have perceived it, though. It only went down that way because Maristen, though angry and shocked, didn't hate Axhimas (though he didn't like her much either) and didn't want her to die. Since he felt that way and wanted the two of them to somehow coexist, her plans were outed and she didn't end up face down in the street. The option was on the table then, but afterwards, not again as we both know. That knife literally cut both ways.
My PC loved Maristen and tried to kill him anyway.
He got promoted and became autonomous. This ran counter to my PCs more fuedal outlook on life. She felt (rightly or not) that she'd been a king maker, but she wasn't getting the collaboration, or information she thought she deserved. My PC was very disappointed in Maristen. I the player thought he was amazing and i'm a Mari fan.
To be fair, Aximas did all the work and took all the risk.

I'm going to jump in to this discussion.
I once played a character that people perceived as "never doing anything" and she also had a lot of mudsex (a lot of it faded) as her profession was a rinth prostitute.
She also got more than a dozen people killed via rp, and knowing how to cry on demand to the right people.
Her name was Mouse, and she died because I forgot to change her outfit in the rinth.
edit to add: she also sexed a zombie with twice the normal amount, and was involved with all sorts of crazy stuff

If I remember correctly, Tor closed and they were conscripted into the militia. The last of them was declared a traitor and executed in the arena some time later. It was a strange time. I miss the Tor Academy, had some great RP there, and nothing says badass like being an Academy Graduate.
Nah, it was definitely Meso, Shrinty and the third one. I had a lot of good RP with that group.
Around the same time there was a Merchant / Agent in Salarr around the same time named Kalaski. Whoever played him did an amazing job and I had a whole lot of fun doing odd jobs for him. What ever happened to that PC?

pss: what happened to Corporal Hardass? He was later a Sarge in the Legion. Drazen's nemisis in the early days whose hobby was shoving punch daggers into his face during botched hits. Never bothered to remember the PC's name b/c he was just the unbribable "Corporal Hardass."
Rush, despite about 4000 coins of "please give us work this totally isn't a bribe", was considered an enemy of the state for paying off a very notable band of Raiders to not target his Troopers/Mercenaries if out on a contract. He was seen as aiding the enemy, and was put to the Cuddler.
After a riot started over the situation, Rush was still "follow"ing the Templar in charge and actually was RELEASED from the Cuddler, and could have escaped. I decided, as a player, that there's no way I was mystically detached from the strapped-in machine, so I went back out there and changed my ldesc to still being there. Then I was killed.
Yes. The character after him was created in February of 2017.

Additionally, he badmouthed the Order of Lirathu to Lyvren the Blue, and associated with magickers in his capacity as a Kuraci. Not a healthy thing to do when you're a Tuluki.Lyvren and Qoriya's minor friendship was the best thing ever.
Also the time I held your stolen hammer namesake to ransom. I really hope that tea was poisoned ;)
It certainly was the best thing ever. It was disappointing neither of us got to Luir's that time, to meet up.
Haha, yes, the hammer. "Tulukgasm". ;D
Man, Pip and Henn were awesome. Great played characters and always a joy to be around. What happened to the 3 Tor dwarves that were completely unstoppable? I can't remember their names for the life of me, but they were pretty amazing. I think it was around 2010 time frame.Three shortstops without a period between them. Meso was one, I remember his auto-firing emote parry trigger. Loved that guy.
Hai! I was Wind. I remember that elf and your partner in crime, Dust Cloud or something.
Were you along when my Arabeti teamed up with a pack of Soh to chase down what we thought was a witch on the Pah, but it turned out was just an afk mul in a cave? I'd tracked it for a couple IG days to this cave, and we mustered a small army, me with my little Arabet and an entire warband of stinking Soh. We wait outside waying each other since we couldn't actually talk to each other due to language barriers, then I finally opened up the cave, heart pounding, and we all charge in with a cacophonous roar of Kahs and Sweet Breezes! ... We stared at the afk mul for a good 5 minutes, beeped it, looked at each other sheepishly, and went our separate ways.
Whatever happened to Holten Irofel? And Methyas Groot?

I still want to know who my Sweet Roll homies were back in the day.
Idji, Sham, Lyvren (who I loathed but later realized it was really cool she didn't spam kill us all and let the story line marinate.)

I was Dorion, the Tor who used to eat your food. At least I think that was Dorion.
(smiles) Thanks, JDM. That means a lot from you. I was nervous talking to your character at first, but mine ended up being very fond of yours. I'm glad I got to make stuff for you!.
Errr.. well, Barsook. If you remember from working with him, when Mari ran events, sometimes I liked to try and come up with random silly games. They didn't always work out how I imagined they would (lord knows), but people seemed to have fun? In all my craftings, I only saw one wooden ball object and thought that it would be cool if a ball were introduced to the game that was more versatile. I just never personally got around to it due to workload. It was my hope that a ball could be made that people could look at and think of more uses for, you know?
When one of my crafters was looking to make something in leather, the idea of a ball came up as we were speaking and we pitched ideas for the design. Chirys delivered in that aspect and while we were talking about the specifics, she, Zhaka and I brainstormed about a game to go with it.
As we were talking, I started to remember an Aztec game. It had a hard ball that had to be shot through hoops at either end of the field. I knew that a popular Zalanthan game should be properly brutal and bloody and that to get it off the ground, it might be a good idea to get it into the arena. Just the idea of having teams, sponsors and involving lots of people was very attractive and exciting. Something kinda dark made me think it would be fun to tie prisoners up and have them get pummeled to death for points as the goal. It was a rough outline, and as I laid out the notion, Zhaka, who was very good at coming up with names for things, dubbed it "Bloodball".
The House would have to profit to go along with the idea, so we thought of selling team tattoos, uniforms, masks, gear and all kinds of stuff provided by House Kadius to launch the sport and we proposed it to the houses. They loved it and wanted to make teams immediately.
It ended up being a little difficult to execute in practice, but thank you everyone who ran with it and tweaked the rules when it was obvious I knew NOTHING about coded combat (first character - Merchant). I'm happy it kept going a while! It was awesome seeing people enjoy the game and throw themselves into the frenzy of what ended up being.. I dunno? Zalanthan rugby? What would you even call that?
It is my hope that over time it will continue to get love and be everything we hoped for. Even if that game doesn't last though, that crafter made a great object. Be creative and come up with something else for it, folks!
Whatever happened to the elf named Falk? I played Ashier/Ash (that nickname was a nightmare, in terms of people accidentally waying me), and she was one of the first two characters I ever met on arma.
I was such a cute newbie, making friends with all the elves and half-elves like speciesm wasn't even a thing. <:
Oh dear, I remember an overly friendly PC, might have been an Ash, iirc (she seemed to turn up EVERYWHERE for a while, even the rinth). Did you ever convince a crazed, murderous, star-handed elf in Luir's to try haggling down the price of a skirt a Tan Muark was trying to sell? If so, doing that pissed off the Muarki, who then bribed the Fist to murder my elf, my elf then stalled them in the cell long enough for a Lady Templar to way the Sergeant "HANDS OFF THE ELF!!!", which, had him so confused he settled for just kicking my elf out of the outpost for a year. That was wild.
EDIT: It's complicated by the fact that I've run into like, a dozen Ash PCs, so, the chances are kind of slim.
The russet-haired girl or something.
Hahahaha! I taught her to draw dicks on things as Drov.
We drew dicks on so many things.
... or maybe she taught me. xD
Yup that was her.
What happened to Val (short for Valerosa, I believe) from way back in 1995? She was the grey-eyed swordswoman, I believe, of House Kurac but she left after a dispute with the gypsies. I always wished I could play a character as well as her player did with that one.
You send a telepathic message to the scarred, dark-haired man:
"You're Baal'hazred, yes? Balls. You know me. You wanted me to die, on the trip to the sewers. If you don't remember. No hard feelings, though! I'm Alme. How can I help?"
...
At your seat, you say in sirihish:
"Cona had a good mind on her. Bright and winsome. She was kind to me. Quen, also. We weren't close friends - I have no friends, you see - but I wish they weren't gone."
Who played that Oash Bastard I did experiments on that resulted in a cool custom scar?
I was wondering the other day, whatever happened to that sneakier-than-your-average sneaky elf, Still?
What happened to Adlok from Old Kurac fame?
I am more than a decade and a half overdue for a kudos there.
I'm still annoyed at how Still died. I think his death is only rivaled by how recent Kasix templar died.
Zonin rings a bell. Who was that, again?
I'm still annoyed at how Still died. I think his death is only rivaled by how recent Kasix templar died.
If you're thinking about the one I think you are, he was a Borsail but I can see the reason for your confusion because his first name sounded a bit like "Kasix." :P
Whatever happened to Xavier?
I believe the sdesc was the athletic, topaz-eyed man. He was the first long-lived PC I saw on my very first Runner. I remember being genuinely really oocly impressed by how tough he was in a fight. Probably not because he was especially tough, but I was just incredibly new. I'd be pretty interested in hearing how he met his end though!
EDIT: And seeing as I think it's been a year since his death, what on earth happened to the byn Sergeant Gore? My character was alive for his leaving the Byn, and his death, I believe, but Vara wasn't in the clan anymore, so I missed out on a lot of details. Either that or I just don't remember after all this time.
If it is the same Meza, she botched a HUGE contract with Nenyuk and was enslaved by them and made into a gladiator. She showed up once or twice in the arena.
Her escort actually ran into the Crimson Wind, who demanded 5k for safe passage from Nenyuk. Nenyuk, currently transporting ALOT of coins, said no.. and then called down to them to say, kill all the Byn Unit, escort me to Luirs, and I will reward you for doing so.

I don't see how Nenyuk thought it had a right to anything from the Byn after this!
Ash Tried to save Meza even spoke to Nenyuk on her behalf, but it seems they had already made up their mind.
Basically, as she was told, you die to protect your contract, that is what you are paid to do.
I am sure given enough time Meza would have turned, become hard and cold as her character developed and lost friends. Turned sour as the world rolls before her, unyielding in its merciless onslaught. And if not? Maybe she wasn't the one for the job.
Meza should have ordered her troops back then joined the Crimson Wind on the spot. And laughed in the Nenyuki's face.

Gore went on to lead a small hunting group, effectively a minor split-off of Bynners who had left for one reason or another. They thrived for a bit and grew to about 5 members or so. It came to pass that he got shot down by elves close to the Grasslands, I believe, while trying to flee a dangerous situation.
NO WAY
SHAI WAS MY FAVOURITE
She was so cool and mystical and she gave me a little crystal gift ;_; how could she be evil.
Two of my characters were just utterly intrigued by her.
Oof.
Also, re: Zonin. Still my favourite PK. I wondered why the soldiers were so wary to get involved. So hey, thanks for that. :V

Basically, as she was told, you die to protect your contract, that is what you are paid to do. Meza wasn't prepared to sacrifice her unit because Nenyuk wouldn't part with 5k from their cargo, that, could have been sorted out on the other end. To her, her reason for wanting to be a Sergeant, was to protect, guide and take care of those in her unit, she wasn't about to let them all die, for the sake of 5k, leaving the wagon in their position after they were dead. To her, it seemed like a no brainer.Ash Tried to save Meza even spoke to Nenyuk on her behalf, but it seems they had already made up their mind.
I still miss the fuckery out of Ash, he was so awesome <3
Did someone say Bowie?
Whatever happened to me?
Whatever happened to me?
Whatever happened to me?
I rocked you hard with the mudsex that you decided there was nothing more to be done in the game. I get it.
Zonin was so. Much. Fun to play.
One of the chars I enjoyed most, just after Kaeetlan, Tin the half-giant and my all-time favourite I forgot the name of.
AWhat happened to the 3 Tor dwarves that were completely unstoppable? I can't remember their names for the life of me, but they were pretty amazing. I think it was around 2010 time frame.
If I remember correctly, Tor closed and they were conscripted into the militia. The last of them was declared a traitor and executed in the arena some time later. It was a strange time. I miss the Tor Academy, had some great RP there, and nothing says badass like being an Academy Graduate.
Meso was the dwarf declared a traitor and executed, but he was not the last. There's actually a log submitted about that event: https://gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,47850.0.html
The actual last of them, Shrinty, rose to the rank of corporal in the Arm of the Dragon. She was killed in action against tarantulas in Descending Sun, In the Year of Lirathu’s Agitation, year 77 of the 21st Age.
Unless Shrinty isn't counted as the three. I remember her talking about three brothers who might be the "Real" three unstoppable Tor dwarves.
Shrinty wasn't in Tor I don't think.
So, I guess I'll just start a thread about asking whatever happened to that PC after you died.
Like, there sure are people who would like to know what happened to their friend after they died one ooc year ago, no?
I'll make a start: Whatever happened to Flaire the Winrothol spymaster after tuluk went nuts?
I'm the one you hired shortly before. Gortok bit me on the way to pick you up again.
Let me revive this to see if I can get a mystery of two plus years answered.
Two to two and a half years ago, my character and her mate had an apartment together in Allanak. In it, we had a little bird pet item. For fun, we used to arrange it when we logged in or out, so it'd seem to be moving from place to place over the course of the day.
One day, we left the apartment together, and when we returned, the little birdy had vanished. We looked everywhere for it, and even checked logs to see if we accidentally junked it or something, but it seems to have simply disappeared between when we left and returned.
So my question is this: Did anyone happen to break into an apartment 2+ years ago, steal just a bird then leave? I honestly half-expected a ransom or something, but nothing ever happened.
Help me solve the biggest and most important mystery in all of Armageddon, guys.
This is extraordinary. #closureLet me revive this to see if I can get a mystery of two plus years answered.

Yes. That was my elf. I cooked it and was going to put it back cooked to really confuse and upset you, but I stuffed up the cooking unfortunately. Oh well!
Oh no, that's awful. ;D Thanks for chiming in with that. It's a shame cooking failed you at the worst time, that would've been tragic to come home to.Let me revive this to see if I can get a mystery of two plus years answered.

Shrinty wasn't in Tor I don't think.
Shrinty was in Tor. I was a Tor noble at the time of these dwarves.
Meza should have ordered her troops back then joined the Crimson Wind on the spot. And laughed in the Nenyuki's face.
He died to a crash, actually, before that, and got rezzed. He told us the story of how he dug out of his own grave and walked all the way back to Allanak. Staff must have thought he had enough time left ahead of him to rez him from something like a game crash.
Albie was patient with me. Most half-giants are not patient with my elves, back when I used to play them.
What did he die to again, exactly? I think it was a contract of some kind.

Why does this story ring a bell, but the name doesn't? There can't be two HGs that dug themselves out of graves and came back to life...can there? ???

Pretty sure Ace the Half-giant did too. Except his version involved being thrown off the Shield Wall or something.

The name Tulay is so familiar... were you Legion?
I wanted to but got nagged into Winrothol Guard.
Tulay was born as Branka of the Dunehooper tribe, or at least what the
elders of the tribe told her. The truth is she does not know who her real
parents are or what happened to them. She was taken in and raised by one of
the elders of a Tuluki city tribe (Dunehooper tribe, who lived in the
Commons) when she was only a year old. For the many years that she was a
part of the tribe, she learned the basics of being a woman in the tribe,
mostly how to tailor, cook, and raise children of the tribe. But when she
was 17, she got tired of her duties and took warrior/guard training from a
local solider. When she became of age (age 18), she sat down with the
elders and requested to leave the tribe to live a better life in the city.
The elders asked why and she told them that she wanted to raise a family
outside the tribe but still visits the tribe. They didn't let her but she
did it anyways and gave herself a new name, Tulay, and moved out of the
Commons. Her goal in life is be to a solider.
Ratseller's real name was Marr. I think maybe one person ever heard his real name. He was the seller of rats, rats parts and other things. Had a long run with this guy. I ended up storing the character because the west side was having a hard time attracting regular players and I needed a changed. He was stored in the end. Nice to see someone remembered him.

If I recall correctly that was business, a contract.
Whatever happened to Crew Leader Arkat Salarr?

I think he stored? I was actually just reading through my logs of Ita and there was no mention of him being killed, unless it happened during a break of mine.

I get bored easily and stored, but her story went on with Fale I'm sure. She's the only character I've played that I felt well and truly won the game. I have happy memo
