Title: Sneak?
Post by: Cameron0202 on August 02, 2004, 09:15:03 PM
Okay, I do this:

sneak
you slow down walk slowly

sneak
you slow down walk slowly

...

walk
you are already walking

Why cant I go into sneak mode? Is this bug or are their variables that affect sneak?

If you do not have the sneak skill, you cannot use it.

Also rangers cannot sneak everywhere, only where they should be good at it.

1. You're riding something that can't sneak.
2. You're drunk, ye jerk!

EDIT: In 1; message would change to 'The templar you're riding is already walking'.

Wrong and wrong.

Best to check with staff on why you are not sneaking.

What are you talking about, wrong to the second part of that?  It's absolutely true that rangers can't sneak everywhere, at least not successfully, and only where it would be feasible for them to.

Anyone can attempt to 'slow down and move stealthily'.  If you can't even attempt to be stealthy, something is probably up that the imms may need to take a look at.

Teleri, anyone with the sneak skill can attempt to be sneaky anywhere...it just affects their chances of success, as they're trying to sneak in the wrong way for the environment, when outside of their home environment.

If you type 'sneak' you should change to 'sneaking' for movement speed, unless you are resting or sitting or the like.

You can use sneak if you don't have it. You'll just suck at it. Really bad.

I'd suggest emailing and finding out what's wrong.

Please tell me you didn't try to find out if templars were flagged mount and sneakable...

You know, while playing a previous character, there was an important NPC that I would interact with on a fairly regular basis (whether an IMM was animating the NPC or not) that was coded as a mount...and I so wanted to find out all the details.
