some clans have a pc to sing songs important to the clan for them, this is very important because it means if the last PC who knows a song dies it is not "lost" until another PC appears who happens to know it (often due to ooc memory, similar to how crafting used to be)
more clans should have them!
staff, please do an original submission rolecall for byn songs, thryzn songs, militia songs, legion songs, gemmed songs, arabet songs, anyone who sings songs!
then give them some swanky singer NPCs that perform songs you can "buy" using the same code as that one the crimson wind has
Save a beetle, ride a Bynner!!
Weeell, the stew's got arms and legs in it and we can't find our sergeant
He had a fight with the mul last night and no one dares to ask it
And that's a shame, but it's all the same, because he was a bastard
Ooooh, he made us walk in sandstorms all from dawn and until evening
And while he'd pretend that he was tough, well, looks can be deceiving
For once we left sight of Allanak, someone else was always leading
Soooo, last night he told the mul that training's barred from dusk 'till light
Then we heard a punch and we heard a crunch, it wasn't much a fight
And we dealt another hand of cards and chuckled through the night
Runner Jay.
Oooooooh Runner Jay.
Call him drunken Runner Jay
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinking Bynner
Or the Merc that went to war
Gather 'round me people
There's a story I would tell
'Bout a brave young Bynner
You should remember well
In the land of sid and sand
from the gate did they sally
A proud and filthy band
Who once razed the Clawfoot Valley
Call him drunken Runner Jay
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinking Bynner
Or the Merc that went to war
There they battled up the badlands
Two hundred and fifty men
But only twenty-seven lived
To march back south again
And when the fight was over
And every fist was raised
Among the men who held it high
Was the Bynner, Runner Jay
Call him drunken Runner Jay
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinking Bynner
Or the merc that went to war
Runner Jay returned a hero
Riding back to 'Naki walls
He was wined and cheered and honored
Thoughout the compound halls.
But he was just a Farmboy
No water, no home, no 'sid
At home nobody cared what Jay'd done
Or what did the Bynners did.
Call him drunken Runner Jay
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinking Bynner
Or the Merc that went to war
Then Jay started drinkin hard
Jail was often his home
They let him raise salute and lower it
Like you'd throw a 'Tok a bone
He died drunk early one morning
Alone in the land he fought to save
Two inches of silt in a lonely ditch
Was a grave for Runner Jay
Call him drunken Runner Jay
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinking Bynner
Or the Merc that went to war
Yeah, call him drunken Runner Jay
But his land is just as dry
And his ghost is lying thirsty
In the ditch where Runners die.
