Those races speeds were really weird. Sunlon/sunback used to move as fast as mekillot. Now they move at a more mount-like speed.

Aww man. That was literally the only thing worth having them for. They were like dirt bikes. Not incredibly useful but fun to have and situational.
Now their speed is nerfed and their endurance still sucks. :(

I think you're confusing them with Erdlus. In other words the Sunlon/Sunback are now faster as previously they were known to be slower than a waddling fat dwarf with bad knees.
Yeah, they're about 2x faster than they used to be. Their endurance was changed a little to compensate, but its probably like 3-5 rooms worth of difference. Erdlu, the speedy chokobo race, is still the same.
I guess so. Specifically I think I've eaten more erdlu than I've ridden.
i can tell you guys right now these changes are noticable and awesome.
