Title: What's new?
Post by: A Large Bag on October 23, 2013, 06:40:29 PM
Hello all. I've been on a break for a while and am looking to get back in, at least casually, again. What's changed over the last RL year that would be common knowledge with the gameworld, if anything? Any common knowledge code changes as well? I intend to dig around the site some but wouldn't mind some input to get me up to speed. No ic sensitive info please though.

Quote from: AdhiraWhat you know:
The Allanak forces were camped out of the old Kuraci fortress of Ten Sarak for some time. They have dubbed it Tek Sarak and claimed it for their own. Declaring that the lands of Tyn Dashra now belonged to the Highlord they marched upon the gypsies home.

Tuluk, not wanting Allanak to entrench themselves so close to their homelands marched after them, coming up behind Allanak as they entered the fertile lands.

After a brief parlay, with no surrender from either side battle began.

While no one knows quite what happened next it is apparent that from somewhere in Tuluk a great and powerful force was activated, matched by a similar force in the Muark lands.  Who unleashed these forces and how is the subject of much rumor.  Great beams of light sprang into the air. As they surged towards each other the Shadow of a Dragon was sighted, swooping over Allanak, Luirs, Tuluk and the whole Known.  When the beams connected the land around Tyn Dashra was torn apart, great earthquakes rumbling across the Known.

The Volcano that once resided outside of Allanak disappeared, leaving in it's place a swath of soil.  Tyn Dashra is no more, the Volcano pushing up from its midst.  Those who were lucky enough to flee the fiery carnage ran in all directions, with a group of Gypsies seen making their way burnt and injured to the Kuraci gates at Luirs.

There are rumors that roads that once linked north to south are no longer able to be traversed.  What is no longer a rumor is that the days of peace are over.  War once again rocks the Known and the cities of North and South are once more foes in a battle for control of Zalanthas.

Definitely a good idea to review this: http://armageddon.org/world/chronology.php

You can also use QUIT OOC to quit anywhere in an emergency.

Staff see all the reasons you give for quitting OOC, so it's fun typing things like 'quit ooc coyotes' and the like, to astound and amuse Nyr!

Give it a try some time!

War, the city states are at war. Your character will have to choose sides, probably.

This hasn't been the case in a long time.  Suddenly, enemies are everywhere.  Also, gypsies are 86'd, but only sort of.

The landscape of the game has changed, and there is a lot to take into consideration when returning, as you've no doubt already discovered, at least in part.

Well, sort of at war. You won't see any armies clashing in the desert all that often.

We're still looking for a reimbursement for us sending in the Marines to save you from the coyotes.  Thanks.

So that's why the Tuluki army hasn't taken over Allanak.

They had to save Zoan from coyotezillas.

I actually had to use "I need to go guys, my friend is in a building surrounded by coyotes and I need to go drive my car around and honk the horn some" as an excuse to leave a game of LOL once.

I wasn't lying.
