Hey there. So, I'm not really a new player but someone who is new asked me the best way to place natural pauses and elongated vowels into their songs. I was just wondering if anyone had some good suggestions, beyond just adding extra letters to the word or elipses as shown below
Appreciate any feedback
Well this isn't specific to singing (at least in my opinion) but I read those as two different things.
So..... is just like saying: So (dramatic pause)
Whereas
Sooooooooooo actually draws out the sound of the O.
Grammatically, eclipses are only ... long. And there are spaces between them and the words.
I suggest using the - symbol. This isn't dogma, just a suggestion, because I think it looks nice, and I grew up singing hymns (to horses and birds, yes, but whatever).
Examples:
Stretching one tone out
He sings,
"Soo-"
(repeating the letter to express length in seconds)
"Soooo-"
(lifting the voice one octave)
"Soo-OO"
"Soo-O-O-O (this is where it just keeps going up)
(Down)
"Soo-oo"
Just my suggestion, but since this is text, not everyone will read it as such.
I like that. Looks good.
I like that as well. Thank you Kevo-O-O-O-O-O
Please don't sing, that you've been through the desert on a kank with no name.
This is all.
