I propose that instead of this:
Jihae, the red moon, hangs low in the sky.
The white moon, Lirathu, hangs low in the sky.
The black moon hangs low in the sky.
We see this:
Jihae, the red moon, is ascending.
The white moon, Lirathu, is descending.
The black moon is descending.
Or something to that effect. Could get even more elaborate and do something like this:
Jihae, the red moon, is ascending above the eastern horizon.
The white moon, Lirathu, is descending below the western horizon.
The black moon is descending below the western horizon.
Thoughts?

I like the more elaborate one! The other one doesn't even say whether they're high or low in the sky, just that they're coming up or going down and seems like less info to me, or the same amount, but different info.
Ummm, what about consistency something like:
The red moon, Jihae, is ascending above the eastern horizon.
The white moon, Lirathu, is descending below the western horizon.
The black moon is descending below the western horizon.
Me likey!

Yeah, that's good too!
Jihae, the red moon, hangs high in the sky ascending above the eastern horizon.
The white moon, Lirathu, hangs low in the sky descending below the western horizon.
The black moon hangs very low in the sky descending below the western horizon.
I still like to see how high/low they are in the sky, because I'd think that even if it is ascending, maybe it's hanging low or something, like the moon can do IRL, but maybe this is too much for a game. Also, perhaps they could change from high > low > very low depending on what stage in rising or descending they are doing, kind of like it does now but with a tad more oomph.
I'd be way down with this.

Love it!
I'd love it even more if there were moon phases, too.
I'd love to see the moon phases too, as they are depicted on the robes.
But ascending/ descending, you don't see when you look at them, do you?
I quite like having to keep a watch on the moons if I'm relying on them.
I have no idea how the moon code works but I'll ask about this.

Yes. You'd see where the moon is but not if it was moving down or up. Not without splitting up the moon phases more within an hour.

Sweet.
I was just getting the hang of predicting their position in the sky based on the time of day in relation to Real world time!... Now you wanna go change it nooo!!
But I do like the idea of Phases. Though I think it be nifty if the moons didn't rise and set all in the same directions. Nor would I think their phases should follow the same cycle as another. Just because Jihae is waning doesn't mean Lirathu can't be Waxing.
I dig these ideas for the realism.
I dig these ideas so I know whether or not I will be able to see at night to eat your brainz with my evil magicker when Jihae is just above the horizon and it is already dusk.
Just kidding, magickers don't need light to see, only evil.
I just want to have my victims see me first so I can feast on their fear before their brainz.
I like the idea for RP.
You know...if I emote about looking towards the western horizon, I can throw in an emote about my cloaked figure being silhouetted by the red moon or something like that.
I can already do this sort of, but I like the idea of being able to pop off a quick "weather" to see exactly where in the sky all the moons are positioned.

say (glancing up at the moons in momentary thought) Judging by the moons... I should have been PK'd hours ago?
I love dem moons, I like this suggestion.
