Title: Mudlet Help
Post by: Gunnerblaster on April 13, 2013, 01:43:08 AM
Recently switched MUD clients and I've decided to go with Mudlet since it seems the most user-friendly, as far as handling aliases and triggers are concerned.

What I'm having an issue with, though, is that instead of Armageddon's iconic 'ding' whenever I kill something, all that shows is a silent and anti-climatic:

You viciously chop a large tandu on her neck.
A large tandu cries out in pain.
A large tandu crumples to the ground.
●

Question: Anyone know how I can circumvent this? I was considering setting a trigger for the line 'crumples to the ground' but then again, not everything 'crumples to the ground' when it dies (like gurth hiding in their shells >.>)

But, yeah. I could use some assistance with helping things getting more to what I'm accustomed to.

Also; if anyone could figure out where I could find Armageddon's death ding.mp3 - Please let me know.

Mudlet does not support sound.

Mudlet does not support sound.
Incorrect.

Just proved that wrong using Mudlet ver. 2.1 using a sound trigger for a specific substring.

I'm just trying to find Armageddon's Deathding.mp3 to substitute it in.

Oh... Huh. Mudlet didn't have sound last time I was playing it. That beep is generally a client feature, not the actual MUD. So check under Mushclient's files.

My computer uses that beep as its general error sound, so you'd probably be able to find it somewhere along a general file of windows sounds.

If you are using windows I believe it uses 'Windows Ding.wav' by default.  Regardless, the sound file you are looking for is probably in c:\windows\media.  Click around there until you find the one you want to change!  This is also changeable in the Control Panel, Sound, Sounds Tab.

Enjoy!

Found it, Jestor! Thanks! It was Windows Error.wav which I'm used to hearing and I just set a trigger to have it 'ding' every time something 'crumples to the ground'.

So, unless someone walks around frequently crumpling to the ground, I should be set.

For ease sake, might also want to do it for "<someone> beeps you."

How do you get the client to put in the c so you can log in automatically?
I filled in my name and password in the space provided but... it doesn't really work for me.
Also, can you work offline with mudlet?
