Title: And you can tell everybody, this is your song!
Post by: 5 day lifespan on August 19, 2003, 01:16:22 PM
Is the sing command a skill, like the others?  I noticed in the help files it will tell the others in the room how well (or poorly) you sing.  Now, if it is then a skill, and can improve, is it a bard only skill, or is it one like cooking, that anyone in the game can get decent at, but obviously not as good as a bard.

Nope. It's like say, except it says, 'You sing'

Actually, the sing command is similar to the language command, in that if your bad at it your speech will be garbled.  I've only once heard a PC who sucked at singing sing before though.

No, I don't think that's correct, ERS.  Sing just changes the style of the emote proceeding the text.  AFAIK.

All sing does is change the text preceeding the communication. If you are singing in a language you do not speak well, it will be garbled, but that is due to the language skill, not to a sing skill.

sing Hello! yields The tall, dark woman sings, in sirihish, "Hello!"

It is not a skill.
