Hi dudes and dudettes. In the effort to grow our playerbase in 2012, I am going to be Doing Stuff. There is lots of Stuff that players can Do, too--and in fact, we'll undoubtedly be much more effective as a team. If you are interested in Doing Stuff to grow our player numbers, you are invited to help out by joining the Publicity Forum. (Did you know we had that? Well, we do!) The only way to get entry to this exclusive forum is to send in a request through the Request Tool (http://www.armageddon.org/request) (you knew that was coming, didn't you) so that you can be added and then see and read/post to the forum. If you're interested, go ahead and send in a General Discussion Board type or Publicity type of request, let us know it's for the Publicity Forum, and include the GDB handle you want to have added to that forum.
I posted this as a regular thread rather than a staff announcement in case there are any questions. If you don't have questions, and you just want to go join the Publicity Forum, well then, do that!
Actual discussion of publicity-type stuff, and coordination for Doing Stuff, will take place within the Publicity Forum. (Did I mention you can join that? I did? Good!)
Which type of request is this?
You can just throw it in under "General Discussion Board" (whatever) or "Publicity" (whatever). Put in the text of the request that you want to join the Publicity forum, and give us your GDB handle. There's no specific request for this at this time, so either of those will do as well, for now.

I totally support players doing publicity in their own personal, private, low-key, casual sort of way. That's fine. Player referrals are a big source of new players, and probably our best source of new players.
But sometimes it's more stimulating and fun to work in a group to achieve goals. That's what the Publicity Forum is for.

You're quite welcome. It's something we've had for a while, but haven't probably been putting to as good use as we could. But we (and by that I mean both staff and players together) can change that!
Also to note, some of you have sent in requests, and I am adding you to the forum even though I can't resolve those requests. You should be able to start viewing/posting immediately under your requested handles, even if the requests aren't actually resolved yet.

Why does it need to be in a hidden forum?
To keep it sekret, keep it safe.
But mostly really to keep irrelevant chatter to a minimum and stay focused on what we're doing.

I suggest including a link to the stories and RP logs section of the website. I found those to be quite inspiring when I was first introduced to the game.

What kind of promo work is this about? I once, drunk, scrawled "play armageddon mud" on a wall in some club. I don't if that counts.
