Because this just came up recently I wanted to put this here as a reminder or for the people that didn't know:

This only really applies if you're using a nickname and not your given name for almost everything, yet it hasn't been added as a keyword. From what I can tell from Nyr's post, it seems that using a secret name or a criminal name doesn't make it necessary to add it as a keyword, only if that nickname is the sole name you go by.
Yeah, I don't think anyone was saying otherwise. ;) If you're consistently using a name that is not the character's true name, you should be adding it via addkeyword.
Agreed. It gets very frustrating when a person tells you their name is steve, but everytime you try to tell steve something, you're told he isn't there. I get that maybe his name isn't REALLY Steve, but its just a courtesy to allow other players to target you by name.
This goes doubly so for people with animal words in their sdesc. The beetle-colored man, or the woman with the face of a gortok.
Sometimes, if someone tells me their name and I get a message that that person isn't here, I will check spellings of that name with keyw. I do this because I am assuming they just *misspelled their own name on accident* (I.e., "My name is Malak," Malak isn't there, but it turns out a Malik is). This is especially true for people still in newbie gear; I know that even after a decade of playing I will sometimes forget my name the first few days and have to check score.
My last Whiran used to give people a different name every time they asked him. :D

"The ONE TIME I don't take an animal keyword...!"
The man with a lack of foresight slashes the fragile, white-skinned man on the head, wounding him!
Could always go for a sdesc like "the filthy-cloaked-figure-haired man with hooded eyes"

On another note, this could be a good argument for using archaic words as descriptors. You're probably not going to find a mob with the word luculent in their sdesc.
You're not going to find a player with the word luculent in their vocabulary, either.

And on the 8th day, God created Bluefae.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but luculent would make absolutely no sense for an sdesc.

Yeah, I know, but I've seen worse.
It would be pleasantly ironic, though.
