Title: An old %s option in prompt
Post by: Marc on April 17, 2011, 02:56:26 PM
Let's try our luck!  ;D

The new %s is pretty cool.  You know what table you're at, etc.  However it's variable length which makes for an unsightly and cluttered prompt IMHO.

Any chance of getting a stand-in prompt option for standing/sitting/resting/sleeping etc ?  I.E. an exact duplicate of what %s used to be?

Thanks in Advance!

what if "%s" worked one way, and "%S" worked the other?

Ok, I'm putting '%s' back to the way it was (I think), and making '%S' work the way '%s' does now, since this seems to be such a big issue.  It makes more sense to me that the 'capital' version gives you more details.

If I remember right all '%s' did was say like 'sleeping', 'resting', 'sitting', 'standing'.  The only details it gave were for fighting, and I have preserved that.  It had no handling for riding, or furniture.

And yes, this is another 'tiny' fix.

Not a -big- issue, only something I had grown used to.  Continuity in experience.  Thanks Morg! :-)

(I just omitted the %s from my prompt.  The change often made my prompt force a line wrap which my eyes are not used to.)

%h/%H:%m/%M:%v/%V:%t/%T:%w:%s:%l:%a>    [might be misremembering something]
