Title: Armageddon business card
Post by: mansa on March 06, 2010, 04:32:23 PM
Hi,

I need an armageddon business card designed.

Front:
Armageddon logo, website address.

Back:  fancy slogan.

Anybody feel up to creating the image?

What would you like the slogan to be?

Armageddon: Getting raped by a rabid badger with a bone-studded dildo...for fun.

I'll give it a crack!

I'm always drawn to WP's phrase of "I play this game to chop mutha-fuckers up with bone swords"

Think that's okay to use?

Kol, I already made a card design.  That's why I asked about the slogan for the back.

But if you want to do one too that's cool.  Just wanted to let you know.

But seriously.  Slogan ideas?

So far I have like, a line from A World Of Your Imagination sung by Gene Wilder in that one scary movie from the 70s.

I whipped this up real quick.  You can print it out and cut them out.  Nothing too fancy but using that website, I imagine someone could make some interesting ones.

Hold onto your boots.

Looks AMAZING, Laura!

I'm sure we could have multiple designs.   The Slogan's pretty good.

Perhaps we could have a second slogan about "Online Roleplaying at it's finest" or something similar, in the broad sense of what the game is.  (text based MMORPG, etc)

I don't want to have the telnet address displayed, just the website.   Let the website teach people how to play the game, and not the card.

The business card is designed to attract people to visit the website.

An RPI experience like no other: Where the only thing more rare than water is trust.

I think RPI is too narrow of a word to use.

I don't. This is a RPI mud, why not let people know that before they decide to come?

Basically something that restates the first sentence on the website with as much 'snappiness' as possible....

QuoteArmageddon is a highly modified DIKU MUD, a form of multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORG), designed to provide a roleplaying experience in the harsh desert world of Zalanthas.

Hrm...  I'll sleep on it.

What if, instead, it was just "An online role-playing experience like no other: The only thing more rare than water, is trust."

At one of the AIMs, someone passed out bumperstickers they'd had made with the slogan,

"A game world that's nasty, harsh, and utterly addictive.
www.armageddon.org Roleplay required."

New back.  Front is the same.  I'll make a couple of print-ready .tiff and .pdf files for mansa and anybody else who wants them.

Here are the print-quality files.  I recommend that anybody who wants to produce this card should take the files to a Kinkos or an Office Depot or somewhere with a printing service station and have someone there help you out.  Trying to do this on a home printer will be tricky.  Also recommended: semi glossy cardstock!

Oh yeah, and I also recommend you use the .tif files for printing if possible, as they are the best quality.

Myself, I'd include the words roleplay somewhere.  And on RPI?  I had to look it up the first time I heard it hear.  Newb.  I think the card should be as clear as possible.

Everybody should go get 20 of them made.

You should go to your local bookstore / library, and stick them into certain key books in the sci-fi / fantasy section.

Just put it halfway through, and then leave them in there.  Someone will find them, and be interested, and check out the website.

Heh, you want a slogan?  How about:

Quote
A page full of text hasn't been this heart-stopping since The Shining.
Armageddon, the MMORPG

I don't like the idea of you guys just making litter of them like nightclub flyers. :P Let's try not to turn this planet into a wasteland, hmm?

Bulletin boards can be found more places than you think:
-indie espresso bars
-internet cafes
-grocery stores
-libraries
-indie gaming stores
-youth, senior, and recreation centers
-virtually every 10 feet on any given university campus

I like the idea of putting them in books, but I don't think the producers want to answer angry emails from bookstore managers, so make sure you twink your stealth skills first and don't overdo it, like those burglars that completely empty apartments.
