Title: Err ... uh ... well, it's ONE of these damned scrolls...
Post by: The7DeadlyVenomz on January 08, 2009, 08:56:48 PM
On an marble, sapphire-inset desk:
  1.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
  2.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
  3.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
  4.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
  5.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
  6.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
  7.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment

Yeh, and they have titles, too ... figuring out which scroll is which is hard.

How about:
On an marble, sapphire-inset desk:
  1.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment:
               "The State of Ginka"
  2.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment:
               "On the Vestric Station"
  3.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment:
"From Roy Fale to Nexter Oash"
  4.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment:
               "About them damned carru"
  5.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
  6.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment
"Right and Wrong - The Kah Answer"
  7.scroll - a scroll of crisp parchment

It would ease the process of gaffling written stuff that you want to get, without trying to figure out which one is which.

Also, if possible, including the titles as keywords.

... The last time I played a literate character, this was already implemented.

Try "look"ing at the surface of the desk. That should list all your scrolls with the titles attached.

Although I would love it if they showed up with the keyword command as well. And titles as keywords WOULD be nifty... but there's a way around it, currently.

This works fine, if all of the scrolls are titled. If they are not, this no longer helps.

Adding the titles as keywords would be cool, definitely.

However, if you know how to count, you can select the one you want.
I was pointing out that the OP proposal exists in-game, with instructions under "help write."

Next reboot titles will work as keywords for scrolls/books.

Right. But that wasn't what I was getting at. I was getting at the fact that, currently, empty scrolls group together, but they don't group together as far as keywords go.

Experiment? Load up 20 scrolls. Title ten of them. Don't title the other ten. Put then in randomly, mixing and matching. Now, BEFORE Morg's change, try getting the one you really want. Better yet, pick a title and have someone else do it.

With Morg's change, though, no longer a problem.

Groovy two-step, baby.
