We're missing one in Luirs, and the one in Blackwing outpost has been disabled from buying for quite a while. I'd like to see discussion 'bout why they be needed, and how it hinders those of the tribes that depended upon them. Possibly I'd even like hearing why having them in there was negative (for some reason I cannot see) and why they haven't been fixed yet.
I hate to say it, but.. "find out IC".

One might be ic, the other, I know is not.
Actually, no, you don't, heh. It's all IC, man.

Derail: Hey Salooonsh, is that Black Dynamite movie just something you like, or are you advertising it cause you're somehow involved in it? It looks hilarious, I just watched the trailer.
I am both the lead role, and the three women in bed. (The unconcious ones are my mother and aunt, which is why he does not want them woken up.)
Hmmm, I should slap a NSFW sticker on that signature.

So let me get this straight. The hide merchant at blackwing outpost, who was initially disabled for being bugged, and never fixed, is now permanently disabled due to ic reasons? Alright, thanks.
And since we're not having any discussion in here, I'd like to add a point. Certain tribes, that would not leave the tablelands, are forced to do so, so that they might conduct trade. Your rebuttal might be that "Well they should just trade hides for what they need." Not too many merchants prefer 200 bamuk, and durrit, and yompar hides over 'sid. As a result of the lack of hide merchants in areas where they should be, you see an increasing degree of desert elves heading to 'the black and white pits' where frankly, I would never want to see a desert elf for anything.
Sounds like someone needs to post an advertisement for d-elf merchant/armorcrafters who can actually craft with all that apparently useless crap you fellows keep hauling in because you need to satisfy the urge to destroy mobs.

Listen, this thread has been derailed twice now, I'm trying to make a valid point. I don't condone overkilling, I might do it, but I don't condone it. And I think it's necessary for a hide merchant to be in place, regardless of if people abused it. You punish the individual, not the whole.
And to add further onto it, the particular npc has been disabled for probably a year or more oocly, if it were disabled because 'someone' was abusing it, that someone is most likely long gone by now. Hell I don't even play a delf, but I don't enjoy seeing them in Tuluk, and Allanak for the sole reason that they cannot do it where they are. If we were going by what you're saying Synthesis, next you're going to see Tuluk's hide merchant's disabled, because the desert elves have been using it in combination with the hunters of the grasslands. Because it isn't just desert elves that over hunt, it isn't just 'nakki's that overhunt, everyone does it, even you.
The particular npc we're talking about, the Blackwing npc, since it's fairly well established above that the Luirs npc was disabled for ic reasons, the Blackwing hide seller was one of the more 'balanced' npc's I saw, other than the lack of a coin limit on hides to be purchased. It gave horrible prices for those that weren't tribal, and exceptionally good prices to those that were, you don't see that in Allanak or Tuluk for the opposing city-states. Instead of fixing the problem, by giving limited coinage, or fixing the problem of some collected items not selling as they should, the mob was entirely disabled. IC reasons, I highly doubt it. I'm not hanging from an IMM's perspective here, but I remember bugging the npc, I remember how it functioned, and I remember waiting and waiting for it to be reworked. It just never happened.
Uhm. I might be wrong, but ... you 'can' sell hides in BW. Like to two different shopkeepers. The prices for them are not as good as they are in other places, but you 'can' still do it. Except there is the usual 5 pieces per type limit and all that.
You sir, are not wrong. I find those two shopkeepers more than adequate for such a small outpost, I'm really at a loss for why this is such a big deal.
Ironic. The one missing in Luirs I chalked up to "IC" as far as a PC just killing him and him never respawning.

Never knew there was another one.
There's actually currently two, not counting the missing hide seller. They certainly don't offer a premium price, but it's Zalanthas, anything works.
I keep thinking this topic is about how to stash merchants away where nobody can see them.

Same.
