While I'm thinking about stuff ... how hard would it be to add the ability to make the time (not the whole date perhaps but just a "morning/evening/high sun" kind of thing) option available for the prompt command?
You know that would be a great addition. Even if it was just a "morn" "mid" "late"
where Morn would indicate dawn-the start of high sun, mid would indicate mid-day til the start of late afternoon, and late would indicate late afternoon til the late night. It helps give people a reminder that "we really REALLY need to leave now or we'll miss the gate" or "let's wait til morning" or "too late for a hunt, too early to go back to the city, might as well spam-cast for an hour"

I would really, really like that.
At the moment, I use a little script that was suggested to me by another player, which sends the "time" command in every ten minutes. At the very least, then, you get regular updates, but that can be really annoying when you're trying to write bios.
i love the idea, so long as it takes being knocked out or underground into account so that it is not abused in those regards.

Verily.
I'm always typing time to use light and time of day in emotes... it really sets the scene, obviously. Having an option to put it in the prompt would be ideal!
musashi is full of good ideas.
I dig this idea very much. It'd certainly be more convenient than repeatedly having to check the time command during RP! One more vote on the pile. :)
This makes a lot of sense to me, since it's a very rare day (even one spent in my cavelike room) when I don't know what time of day it is.
I prefer the morning/afternoon/night idea, rather than having the specific time written out, and 'unknown' for when characters are underground, unconscious, or otherwise wouldn't know what time it is.
Yeah of course ... just a morning/afternoon/night thing would be fine.
Having
It is currently late morning on Abid, the 146th day of the Low Sun,
In the Year of Desert's Defiance, year 47 of the 21st Age.
would make your command line just a little spammy.
Plus, I highly doubt you'd need the day and year in your prompt anyway =p
Yeah, if you can throw the year and age into an emote I'd be impressed.
