Title: The Tuluki Caste System - And sexing it up.
Post by: musashi on October 30, 2008, 02:05:26 PM
Something else I was wondering about, it says that friendships can exist between different castes but never sexual relations ... cool cool.

But does that mean that nobility and Templar don't ever get down either? Since, technically speaking, they are of two different castes ...

It wouldn't be the same kind of disappearance/execution risk as noble/commoner sex, but IIRC from my time as a Tuluki noble, it's very much not done and would be frowned on. Minimally the participants would be interested in keeping it intensely hush-hush.

And the Hlum nobility? Are they allowed to get jiggy with another noble?

EDIT: Nevermind! Just answered that one for myself while reading.

From my understanding templars are celibate. They can marry, but they'd have to give up their templar title.

The grim, tabard-clad templar says, in northern-accented sirihish,
"I do not avoid women, Mandrake."
You nod, vigorously and hurriedly.
The grim, tabard-clad templar says, continuing, in northern-accented sirihish,
"But I do not allow them to sap my essence."

Huh? Didn't see that in the docs.

Templars aren't celibate. More than that, find out IC.

Templars are too busy for relationships.

Templars are too busy for relationships.

But not sex.

Do you think Jihaens carry around those big staffs -just- for battle?

I think not.

As much as I hate to say it, this is probably one of those 'find out IC' things. Which is unfortunate, because any commoner expressing a great interest in the Faithful's sexuality (or lack thereof) may find themselves very much disappeared. What is pretty clear, however, is that they don't fuck commoners... or at least, that they don't fuck commoners, and then leave them around to brag about it. Any other hanky-panky that may or may not be going on is probably done with trademark Tuluki discretion and subtlety.
