I've played a lot of MUDS, most of them pretty bad. I've known about Arm for a while, but I decided never ever ever to go on until very recently. Why?
The name! Yes, when I heard the name "Armageddon" my foolish mind conjured up images of a fundamentalist christian role-playing MUD based around the end of world, cities choosable: Jerusalem, Megiddo, Antichrist's Stronghold. So when I actually got up the courage to read the docs, I had a pleasant surprise ;D
But now I'm glad to be here.
A Left Behind mud? That's the worst idea I ever heard of.
... I wonder if it exists yet.

Consider me thoroughly surprised if it does not.
I'd so play a Left Behind mud with you guys.
The blue-helmeted peacekeeper runs in from the east.
A unit of blue-helmeted soldiers of the Global Community runs in from the east.
The blue-helmeted peacekeeper looks at you.
The blue-helmeted peacekeeper gets his medallion of Carpathia from a pocket of his blue and khaki windbreaker.
Magickal currents begin to swirl around the blue-helmeted peacekeeper.
The blue-helmeted peacekeeper calls upon the power of his king.

It's not a mud, but...

QuotePlay the video game in which prayer is more powerful than guns! Finally, a positive, safe game for the entire family.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_Behind:_Eternal_Forces - Basically... it's a real-time war strategy game where you plow through legions of nonbelievers while playing a band of particularly spirited, powerful Jesus Warriors.
QuoteUpon its release, Eternal Forces was subject to criticism from various groups who decried the game as promoting religious warfare or intolerance. Christian attorney Jack Thompson, who had previously attacked other non-Christian video games, was particularly displeased with the game. Thompson claimed that "The game is about killing people for their lack of faith in Jesus,"
But if you're interested, you can download it for five bucks on the official site.
Oh. My. God.
It looks like they are all exploding!!!!
The lord works in mysterious ways.
Oh my! Wow. I almost don't have words for that.
I thought that it made the people look like they were all really gassy.
Now I bet if it were non-believers plowing some Christians, there would be riots....

The portly, bearded man wears a silver, flame-retardant suit.
As a practicing non-Christian who nonetheless respects what (I believe, anyway) are core Christian beliefs (so not everything every Christian believes, but some of the big ones), I felt that the "Left Behind" game was by its very conception damaging to what I regard as "a more mainstream" Christianity. It seems to rely more on the values of St. Augustine and the Pauline doctrines. It clearly has a "If not for me then against me" tone, rather than a "swords into plowshares" vibe. Then again, Revelation is a bit like that, anyway.
Plus, if it follows the movies closely, it is likely a haven for actors with incredibly bad hair.

Having closely read the
Confessions and
City of God I take serious issue with this statement, but that's something for PMs.

You were closer than you think.
Armageddon MUSH is (or was) an end-times game. A lousy, name-stealing, geocities using, game. Well, I don't know for sure that it was lousy since I never tried it, but since it seems to be dead now I'm content to believe it was not a very good game. http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/6089/Armageddon.html
QuoteArmageddonMUSH is an online, multi-player roleplaying game, set in the
dark times after the end of the world prophesied in the Book of Revelation.
Players take on the roles of humans, angels, demons, and fae in an all-text
medium: typing to each other what their characters do or say, mediated by
staff members and special commands that represent particular actions in the
Armageddon world.

Haha :D
Dare you laugh at the fae-kin of Jesus?
Their map looks remarkably like ours, but instead of a river we have a wall, the plains and the wasteland are switched, the phallic form in the wasteland is Allanak, and the sea is moved to the south, and that question mark is a death trap.
But, it's good that you're here. You seem like a decent enough fellow, and it's good you stuck around.
