IRL, anyone can hide. If you aren't looking for some people, you'll never find them. (Where's Waldo?) This idea is pretty simple.
Allow everyone the ability to hide <direction>. Using this command would garuntee you the chance to hide at a rate of 80+%.
You would only be hidden from people coming from the specified direction and from people looking in your direction from the specified direction.
If you hide north, you would still be seen by people from the other directions, including people in your room.
You would have a few different directions to hide from, to include:
North
South
West
East
Up
Down
Room
Thoughts? Ideas?
too overpowered and general imho.
I feel like this was suggested once already. It makes sense realistically, yeah, but its just a game. ;D (so no, even though honestly I'd like it)
I don't think it makes much sense realistically. Most people IRL make more noise when moving around than a herd of rampaging goats, and are about as unobtrusive as a white Jehova's Witness.
Unless there is something HUGE between them and you, people are pretty easy to find. You can simulate this in armageddon by going "north;east", around the corner of a building.
I say make it possible to hide in the midden heaps you commonly find in the cities :D

How about piles of hay, and tarp-covered huts on rooftops?

Assassin's Creed style, ftw! Diving off of a rooftop into a pile of hay!
If they get this....
I want to be able to launch off a building, live, and thrust a blade into someones neck perfectly.
You hear the sound of a hawk screeching as it dives for its prey.
A nearby bail of hay shivers, then returns to normal.
Nothing out of the ordinary here, go on about your business.
think (oh so relaxed) Damn hawks...

Don't think he said anything about sneaking being easy. Often ppl walk into something and make more noise while they're watching you to see if you look at them while they sneak past (my irl experiences o'course)
and haven't you ever played hide and seek? how many of those random ppl on the street saw you? If you take a chance to really look around, you can usually find a good spot to hide, atleast from a certain direction.
Though, I am still against this. Just cause it works irl, doesn't mean it has to work in arm and vice versa. Though I do like Arm for its realism, I don't want it to get TOO realistic, its a game guys lets try to keep it that way eh? Besides I already play something that is extremely realistic, its called 'Life' (quoted from a friend of mine, he knows who he is :))
