The Main Bazaar [ES]
The clamor, tumult, and melange of smells that make up the bewildering
chaos of Allanak's main bazaar fill the air. Crowds jostle each other on
every side, in a constant jumble of shouts, arguments, and conversations.
Merchants from both Allanak and afar trade goods and services, throughout
the day and night. Tents and stalls are scattered throughout the bazaar,
vendors and beggars vying fiercely for prime spots. The dry air is filled
with the red dust kicked up into the air by the constant movement of the
crowds, as well as the mingled smell of cooking foods, perfumes, spilled
wines and attars, the reek of tanning and dyeing vats, and unwashed bodies
to every side.
To the west stands a small building, snuggled into the shelter of the
wall surrounding the Bazaar.
A grey sandcloth and hide pavilion is here, extending towards the east.

Ya damn right.
NPC Militia: Tough but fair.

That rat is actually Tektolnes, walking amongst the people incognito.
Today he was leading his loyal soldiers in some jogging drills.
Obligatory 'Tuluk did it first.'
Angela Christine- Awesome picture.
And that is quite entertaining.

AC that's the best signature I've seen in a long time :P
So glad the militia has nothing better to do.
Wow, that reminds me that it's time to complain about the crim-code again. ;) That, and past experiences with trying to play criminals in the cities.
Sometimes I think it would be better if the NPC soldiers didn't recognize criminals at all. Even that would be more realistic than this sorta stuff. Heck, maybe put like a coded 1 in 10 chance that a criminal is recognized by NPC militia... and 1/20 if they are disguised/cloaked/masked or something. Unless they are standing right there when the crime is commited. Something. Anything.
Hahahahahaha
That totally made my day :)
Eleven units of NPC soldiers can't catch one little rat? What are all the criminals complaining about. :P

We don't have the ability to "insta-flee" like NPC's do. ;)
Outside the Merchants' Gate [NESW]
The eastern gate of Allanak, commonly called the Merchants' Gate, is set
into the towering red walls here. A grand arch of rough red stone spans the
gate, broad enough to allow a team of mekillots pulling a wagon through its
portal. The arch is inscribed with scenes displaying the economic splendors
of the city-state. The Outer Circle continues to the north and south, while
the Ivory-Salt Road extends east from here, slicing through the desert sand
as far as the eye can see.
The body of the red-tipped falcon lies crumpled here.
