Title: Added "Quit" and "Save" identifiers
Post by: Tiernan on September 08, 2006, 09:21:34 PM
Before the wishes and posts start, it is now 9:14pm EDT, Sept. 8, 2006.

Wait until the next reboot.

---
Details:

You should see 2 new options listed after a room's title, when appropriate:

"Quit" means that the room is quit-safe for everyone.  Rangers will not have the entire world start showing up as "Quit".  The idea behind this is to make quit-safe places easier to identify for newbies.

"Save" means that the room is a save-room: its contents will be saved periodically and restored upon a reboot.

Examples:
The Storm's End Tavern [NESWU Quit]

A Busy Barrack [ND Quit Save]

Inside a small, desert-camouflaged tent [Leave Save]

Can it be toggled off?

Thank you so much!

Hmm... I'm with Hymwen on this one.  The less code I see in game, the less jarring.  Admittedly, I kinda liked it when LEAVE showed up as an exit, and QUIT sounds like a good idea... but SAVE seems jarring to me.  Then again, I'm a hard-assed resists change kinda templar.

Is it possible to be able to toggle off/make optional flags, perhaps with some sort of brief?  I like that we can now tell without sacrificing random items, but I'd rather have a 'save test' option than it glaring at me whenever I enter the room.

Thanks.

A toggle might be neat.

I know this can be toggled off, but is there a way to save the fact that you toggle it off? Because every time I log in, I see it, despite having toggled it off repeatedly.

Yeah, I fixed this pretty soon after I saw the bug.  All we're waiting on is a reboot.
