A race a new race, somthing called lets say A Mert or Merk? just somthing u can play that is non city crap and city dosnt like it? so its more rp for when somone escorts u somwhere oh no a merk we gotta avoid that or somthing just a non-city role pc's can play I think that would be cool instead of all the city roles there are there isnt any non city roles unless u got karma so...
Like a Gith?
yes but u need KARMA for that im talking a non-karma non-city thing u can play that'd make the game more rp'ish
You want a non-city role... play a hunter?
your not understanding that is a human, im talking a new race that lives outside of city and dose not go inside the city at all. they make there own city
What you describe is a lot like a gith, which already exists. Unfortunately AFAIK gith are unplayable.
Gith used to be playable, but they were removed from the game because there was too many roles and not enough players to play them, in order to 'fill' the game to do the things we want to do.
Perhaps you should put in a special application for a halfling character. They are a bunch of carnivores who eat people and live in their own little area.
Ok this is what I am talking about, I was trying to say, I want a role that you can play that is not a city role, a role that hates everything but themselves, a
fun role to make it hard for caravans to get to luirs a role to make it hard to get to Tuluk do you understand now?
Well.
You could play a desert elf in a raiding clan. They require karma, but only one point. It wouldn't be difficult to special app one and get approved if you have the concept.
That would be a race that never goes inside the city, hates and/or distrusts city dwellers, and makes things difficult for caravans.
Many desert elves never enter cities. And, sometimes, when certain groups of them become very active there is a "oh no, it's a desert elf" context for when people encounter them outside the city.
As for races, there are gith, mantis, and halflings - all of whom don't enter the cities and, typically, scare PCs when encountered. Unfortunately, two of those races are currently closed and the third is by special application.

Make a raider of any race, or special app a gith. Both are tricky... raiders usually work better with a few friends. Someone solo eventually always dies (hell, groups die too, it just takes longer), and gith aren't open right now. But who knows, maybe if you special app'd a totally kick ass gith concept, the imms would work with you.
Too just put in my own thoughts, It's generally against the spirit of the game to, "put in" a new race. Everything here has a deep history and reason for being existing.
So what Cegar is saying, is you'll have to create a powerful magicker of some kind, and create a new race.
I think it should be a cross between mantis and halfling.
i think braxat should be a race. and also im a dumbass so is mantis a race you can play if you get enough karma?
I will say nothing on braxat...but I suggest special app'ing one. That'd be cool as hell.
As far as mantis go, no, they are not a playable race. Same for gith. Gith used to be.
Current race options: human, city elf, dwarf, half-elf, desert elf (1 karma), half-giant (3 karma required), and mul (7 karma required). There is also halfling by special application only, although I do believe Sanvean mentioned that they may become a karma race as well. I also believe they are not currently accepting halfling applications.

An interesting focus for a dwarf magicker.
I'm going to throw my vote behind Tregils. A few years ago I saw a write up on the Athas site about using tregils as a PC race. They don't wear clothes, but apparently some wear belts or harnesses and use tools.
"Oh shit. It's a tregil with a wrench, run!"
Next time you want to nitpick on each others, take it either to PMs or off the boards. Next time you want to give what appears to be a new member of GDB some advice or constructive advice that could be embarassing to the player, take it to PMs.
Folks, most of you guys have been here awhile and should definitely know better. I honestly didn't expect to see this board, of all boards, degenerate into squabbling about grammar. It's forum where newbies go to ask experienced players questions. It's supposed to be friendly and helpful. Not a place to be criticized in this manner.
My advice is: if you can't understand the question, either pm the original poster asking for clarification, or don't post at all, and let those who are willing to take the time with new posters answer the questions.
I've removed the posts, and am locking this thread; I hope the original poster of this thread doesn't take these posts personally.
