Title: Kudos to the Staff

AWESOME.

One of the trends I've noticed lately is that new code changes, especially to interface, come with the ability to turn them off or ignore them completely.  I.e. brief sing, stat ordering, etc.

This is an amazing thing.  I think one of the major problems many long-term players have with changes to a game is a lack of input/control.  Sane people typically resist change, especially when things are going well.

This school of thought is yet another benefit that sets ArmageddonMUD staffers apart from the rest.  It honestly makes me rethink my opinion on a lot of things (colors, etc.) that may benefit others but I might just turn off if it doesn't work for me.

I know it can't be too easy to offer both options at once and think you all deserve a cookie, beer, or small elven slave.

Lord Templar Hard Nose cannot bake, brew, but may find a slave.

I wouldn't mind some colour options if only more shades of grey, at least the ability to separate room desc, people, and items on the ground. I have a simple client, i can't really script or even trigger with it, just aliases, hot-keys and simple macros. Personally i never quite like the reason given for why this game had no colour options.

I dunno....ever since arm, whenever I go to muds with color, I almost immediately logout.  It's just become preference.

Hence why it could be optional, with the default being 'off'.

It's so easy to add color if you want it.  The excuse of 'my client is too simple' imho are pretty frail.  If you want color, go download a more powerful client and get crazy with highlights.  To expect the staff to facilitate you because you're too lazy to do it yourself is quite shallow.  Take the initiative and add all the color you can handle.

I know this has nothing to do with what OP was saying, but the title of this thread is appropriate.

I just wanted to say kudos to whoever made up izdari and all the other great Zalanthan games that make it a fully functioning and entertaining world.  Btw, is there a coded way to play izdari, or do you just roleplay it out?  I've seen an object that has a set, but it doesn't seem to be interactive.

Kudos to the staff, immortals and builders.

As far as I know, Izdari is not code supported in game...

However, you can play in a java app while describing ICly and OOCly the moves you're making so that the other player can call up the same app and have everything represented.

This is superb.  I was considering coding something like this if it didn't exist.
