Does this update mean that scan no longer sees blurs?

I think it means that if a magicker casts a higher power level invisible, then it gets harder and harder to see them.

That makes sense, thanks.
Man, this sucks. It was already a bitch to try and spam look blur or kill blur. Now invisible people are pretty much invincible to any character who doesn't have detect invis?

Doesn't that make the game harder?
I hope that they invoke an oppertunity to HIT INVISIBLE people THE MOMENTS between when they start chanting, and when they cast a spell.

It makes sense, imagine you 100 day sorc can't hide from some 4 day ranger because he can see invis now.
I think their skill should be higher if I cast my invis higher.
Not sure this is a good thing, seeing how abusable many spells are that don't break invisibility.
Seeing more spells break invisibility might make an uber strong invisibility make perfect sense. When you want to stay hidden, you can stay hidden effectively. When you want to kill an entire Byn unit, you can't stay hidden as effectively. That seems sensible to me, though I know that hasn't been the case since the Arm magick system was introduced.
It's magick. I have no problem having more problems seeing Magickers. It's Magick. I don't care if a magicker can wipe out a Byn unit. It's magick. Maybe that will prompt more clans to use magickers as they should be. Bring that Byn specialist out on the field, he's made to keep us safe from magick ... just keep the chain on him.
It's about time this change came into place. Invisibility has always been nerfed when
it's supposed to be powerful. I might even travel if I made another Whiran pc.

What my owner said.
Yes, this was a needed change, but here is my question. Say you have max scan and the magicker casts invisible at mon, will you still not be able to detect them or is a max scan and a mon invisible the same level?
Definitely not for making magickers even more difficult to locate. Considering the update to invisibility, you may want to raise the maxxes on scan for certain character classes.

Do you not know me by now? Do you think I would make invisibility completely impossible to see with scan? sheesh...
Just for that, you get:
FIND OUT IC

Muahahah, I will take that one :D
This is a great change. I always thought it was silly that my 6-day pickpocket was once able to spy a long-lived sorcerer.
I don't necessarily agree about this "hitting a casting magicker" either though, at least in the case of Whirans. Cartoons aside, you can't actually see wind, you can only see its effects on other things.

I'm so glad this went in. It never made sense the way it was before. I also disagree with "hitting a casting <unseen> magicker". Just because you can hear them and see the effects of the winds or whatever on things nearby doesn't mean you can accurately determine where they are to the point of being able to strike them.
I will -for the fifth time or so- explain.
Let's imagine casting makes you fully visible. No magicker of mine will be stupid enough to cast at a warrior's sword range. Speaking seven syllables -which were possibly trained a hundred, maybe a thousand times before - may cost at most a second and in a second you may take.. three steps? ASSUME THAT MAGICKER IS THREE*THREE STEPS AWAY FROM YOU.
After the casting, the magicker is free to move, to anywhere he likes, totally invisible.
Please do not force me to explain this pretty clear example for a sixth time. You cannot hit casting mages if you can't already see them. That's realistic, that's playable for whirans and as you can see, it wasn't already enough that's why the staff tries to empower invisibility.
So now.. if there is someone with the ability to turn invisible.. I can't see them.. like.. they're not visible???
Doesn't that just fuck up realism trend we were going for...
ps- Thank god invisibility = invisibility now, a good change IMO. Though not a flawless spell, I'm happy it's more difficult to catch.
i didn't want to hear any of this magicker shite... I'd rather remain happily in the dark about spells for now...
This topic probably needs to end now (as it is on the line of what is IC knowledge). Going ahead and locking it. Further questions can be emailed in.
