I played armageddon for a bit awhile ago, and decided recently to try it again. I logged in to make a character, but I still have an account with a living character. I have no intention of roleplaying this character, and I wouldn't do them justice if I was to play them. I have looked for rules regarding suicide of characters, but only found a small portion in the help files stating that there isn't a suicide command.
Is it against the rules to intentionally kill your own character?

Use the handy dandy request tool on the main website to request storage.
Or log in and wish up asking nicely to have the pc stored. I've been told to do this as well. It's usually much faster if there is a staff member available to get it done.
BTW, welcome back to Crackageddon...much has changed since you were way, I'm sure.

You could just accidentally die by say... stumbling into a Templar or something.

Suiciding is a bad idea. You should store.
If you're gonna suicide, make it fun :P grope a templar!
Enter the game, walk out the city gates, and die.
If the role is one where your char is important in a clan then email your clan imms and say - I noticed my character is still in the game and part of the clan can you kill him in an interesting way?
And finally, you may wish up at any given time and ask the immortals to eat your brainz. They will be happy to oblige.
Oh yeah, you can also use the request tool to store.

It's not okay. The staff still frowns on suicideing your character in such a fashion. :evil:

I don't recommend this. Actually, I believe I got a "bad note" for doing so in past.
EDITed to add: No, it was not about circumstances. I wished up and was told it is bad way and only good way is to send email and be patient. But well, it is years ago, perhaps staff's opinion changed since then.

The staff tells you you're allowed to suicide if you want during your communications out of game when they see it's OK if I'm not wrong.. Once an imm told me "Suicide or retire, whatever fits you." It takes only 24 hours to retire via the request tool. Just retire it.

Not in this case, no, but it would be under other conditions. Make up some reason why your character has lost the will to live and throw him at the first mek that walks by.
You could also retire the character, but you will have to email the staff for that.

I've been told by -staff- to do this otherwise I wouldn't have started doing it. It may be possible it was the circumstances under which you stored that got you the note.
I wished up and got my character stored. The staff member did not seem to be irritated, and did not tell me to just use request.

No, don't suicide. Submit a request and login and wish up. You'll probably get stored quickly (ie. within a day or so, hopefully much faster).
