I've had this problem since late last night. Anyone else having issues logging on? Or is my computer just being screwy?
No problems here.
Well, crap. Anyone have any idea what my problem might be?
We can make sure faith does not like you these days.. "tracert ginka.armageddon.org" can find any route?
Try "ping 64.252.79.51" to test the IP address. If this works, use it as your location rather than ginka.armageddon.org. If you still can not connect but ping works, then you are very likely firewalled.
I don't recommend using tracert as the results -can- be misleading. Not all routers respond nicely to traceroute packets even though they will pass other traffic fine. This can lead to false negatives. Ping is usually sufficent in testing connectivity.
I'm not sure what you guys are saying. How do I "ping"?
I think you go to your start menu and 'run' and 'command' and type 'ping xx.xxx.xxx.x-whatever-xx.' or something like that. Not sure.
Okay, I tried that, and the ping didn't work. It kept saying "request timed out".
I really don't know. I never had any problems myself, but there's probably plenty of gee... intelligent people around who know :)

That means you have a network problem. I would talk to your network provider and ask if there are problems getting to that IP address. I am assuming since you are posting on the board that you can get to other locations in the Internet.
FWIW, what a "ping" is, is you sending a "packet" of data to the other location and asking them to send it back to you. This helps determine if the other site is reachable, and how long the roundtrip takes. The term is derived from submarines doing the same thing with sound to determine if something is there.
