Okay, this is confusing the hell out of me:

True or False?

emote is used when interaction occurs or noise

semote is used for basicly every smile, frown, change in posture, scratching your noise ect...

hemote is used when well doing something like palming stuff from your back pack

Nope.

emote = any action that is going to be visible and audible.

semote = silente actions that you perform when you are concealed in some manner (hidden/invis/ethereal)

hemote = actions that are not easily visible unless someone is watching you (picking your nose..scratching your crotch...making a coy hand signal).

Are you -sure- about that?

I haven't been able to keep it clear, either, but I thought hemote was for actions when hidden, and semote was for actions when silent.. more in line with the original poster.

No, semote is for a regular emote that has no audible element. Anything that doesn't make a noise - smiling, waving, glancing... but not necessarily when you're hidden. In fact, 'help semote' says:

Avoid using this command for emotes that would physically interact with objects or characters.  They will not get a message if they can't see you.

Semote is for things that you can see but not hear, such as if you're in a room with a sleeping person and do something silent that you don't want them to see.

I'm not backwards.  I forgot the part about the sleeping/incapacitated person.  The point is that it is a silent action, not a concealed action.

If you do a semote and you are visible, everyone in the room who is conscious and not incapacitated will see it as a regular emote.  So personally, I would just do a regular emote.

Unless there is, of course, some distinction between doing a semote and emote when you're vis.

Note too that neither semote nor hemote should be used to interact with other people, on the chance that they can't see you do it.  I suppose it would be alright if you and a partner were actively watching one another on purpose.  You could do all kinds of fun gestures and touches.  Stuff like that.  But on the unsuspecting...ixnay.

I've used hemote to sneak-peek at hot guys.

I totally skewed your poll.  Sorry.

I meant to choose false. So that one true vote you have there? That was me.

Tamarin and Mansa are both wrong.

The original poster is correct.  Semote can be used ANYTIME the emote is completely silent in nature, period.

(Disclaimer: other than for semote as clarified above, Tamarin's description is correct).

Why not just go for a semote? It's 1 letter extra ;)

Except that the emote command has the handy colon (:) shortcut, and neither hemote or semote do. The only time I could see myself using semote is when I am invisible, or I know for sure that others in the room are blind/unconcious. The rest of the time I'm happy to save myself some thought and three characters and use emote rather than semote.
