Title: For the boards....

It would be cool if one could vote for a post or a reply on the board. Giving it a score of some kind as more people voted for it. That way, certain ideas or arguments could be weighted by readers who agree.

I vote against this idea.

But seriously... polls don't work. They are always bias. Prove me wrong.

I don't think he's talking about a poll. More like a rating, similar to how reviews and other things are rated (1-5 stars, that sort of thing).

I'd like the idea if I thought people would actually take the time to rate everything they read.

Yuck, everyone spends far too much on this thing as it is.  Get into the game.

Exactly. I don't want to read the crap. I figure I wait a few days, let some people vote and then read whats popular.

I'm a conformist.

But in thinking about this now, crappy posts would just end up getting votes and I would remain, the bitter, jaded bastard that I am.

Might be useful if you could sort based on rating.  I haven't really been on a board that used that in any useful way, though, so I'm not sure.
