Title: title that kank I saw a couple weeks back
Post by: Ellen on August 28, 2005, 09:59:27 PM
When moving around on mounts with a large group of people, they don't stay in the same order.  This makes it extremely difficult to title a mount if you forget to do it immediately:

title kank curly
You aren't riding that creature.

title 2.kank curly
You aren't riding that creature.

You follow someone, moving east.

title kank curly
You aren't riding that creature.

etc...

Would it be possible to have the "title" command automatically title the creature you ARE riding, and give some kind of message if you aren't mounted at all?  If you need to be riding a mount to title it, it seems unnecessary to have to designate which mount you mean in the command.

...Or am I missing something?

Tip: Title the mount and hitch it to your character once you unstable it.

I like it...just makes sense that, if you can only title the kank you're riding, it should only target said kank for the title.

This seems like more of a bug to me than an intended feature.

And don't title your kank sergeant.

And it's probably not so good to name it after someone's well known and high ranked aide.  But boy was it funny.

Probably best not to title your kank "scrab" either.

ellen, if you idea this in game, it will get to the right spot faster than asking us numskulls on the boards.

help idea
>Idea                                                              (General)

This command is used for conveying interesting thoughts to the game's
implementors. It should not be used for informing the coders about bugs or
typographical errors, as there are two separate commands, bug and typo
(q.v.) for those.
The command also takes an object or character as an argument followed
by text indicating what is wrong with the character or object.  If the
target is an NPC or object then it records the database number of that
NPC/object to help the staff track down the problem.

Syntax
  idea <message>
  idea <object> <message>
  idea <character> <message>

Example:
  > idea It would be neat if there was a poison skill.

  > idea lamp Maybe this lamp could give off red light?

  > idea mul It would be cool if this mul would arm wrestle with challengers
