Title: Magickers and crafting

I was just recently playing Baldur's Gate and I thought that it might be cool if a magicker/weaponcrafter could sort of imbue a sword with magickal properties. For example: a fire elementalist could craft what looks to be a normal sword, but when you get hit by it, you lose extra health or something similar to this.
