I dunno, I think people are too impatient for the update. It hadn't even been 4 hours since the end of Immday.
I believe (s)he is referring to last week's Weekly Update, which still hasn't been released so far as I've seen.
I miss the days when, by Sunday night, there'd be a Weekly Update in my inbox, as sweet and innocent as an unplucked plum. Of course, I don't miss them less than the days before, when the Weekly Update was merely a twinkle in Sanvean's eye. Or eyes. I'm not entirely sure how many she has.
I write up the weekly update's each week but unfortunately I can't access the statistics on how many apps have been accepted, rejected, etc, so if the imm who does that is busy unfortunately it can't get put up (and with the new staff this week's been a bit hectic). Sorry for the lack of WU. This week's will have last week's as well.
No foul -- the Weekly Updates are far more a luxury than a necessity. The imms have plenty of important things to do, and any Armer who is hysteric over a late WU is enjoined to shut up and die. That's only my own opinion, which is separate from the vast majority of staff who agree with me.
Edit: That may have been a bit harsh. Questions are always entertained in an intelligent and friendly manner by people with more social empathy than myself.

Last weekend's has already been posted. This weekend's is coming soon to a website near you.
I only see the one for the weekend of the 4th.. we're missing the one for the 11th (last weekend's). Or am I just blind and not seeing it?
There wasn't one. It's become bi-weekly.

I agree. It's important to be patient - for the first two weeks. It's been over three though. Is Ammit the only IMM who can write these updates? I thought there were a few - so that when one isn't available, someone else can pick up the task.

Eh. You can't expect every IMM to be available to do every part of their assigned duties, every time the duty needs to be done. That's why we have to be patient and understanding if a weekly update doesn't get out for awhile. But - I think it would be easier on those IMMs involved if they could share their duties with each other - such as maybe if 2 or 3 imms knew how to do the weekly update, and the "main guy" isn't available for longer than the 2nd week, then someone else could pick it up for him.
That way he doesn't get criticized for slacking (since I'm sure he's probably got plenty of OTHER things to keep him busy), and we players get to see our beloved update. I know in the past, there were more than on IMM to do this. And whatever is causing Ammit to not do it, I hope it passes quick and painless!

Ammit has been busier than usual lately. Even though Winrothol has two new IMMs (myself and Vanth), Ammit is the only person maintaining the weekly updates. I'm sure others could, but that could also lead to confusion. Be grateful that it isn't like it was at one point when there was three weeks between updates at times.

is the longest time that it's been between updates ..ever since it started, on February 25th, 2001.
An update that the game is actually changing because of the efforts of the staff and players has become a signal that we're not a stagnate and boring MUD. It -proves- that we're a cool place to be, because of constant changes to the world, updates to code, and new additions. I used to check 'news' and 'motd' all the time, until it was replaced by the weekly update.
As a side note... it is incredibly hard to view all the old updates. There's 3 different links on the web page, and neither of them have a 'complete' list of all of them.
