Title: Weekly Update for April 17th, 2004
Post by: on April 19, 2004, 06:21:53 PM
News
We're still soliciting player histories for the staff documentation. Anything's fair game for a write-up of your character. What do you want remembered about your character? What did s/he do, and who did s/he interact with? What would other members of her/his clan remember, what stories would the grandchildren tell? Write-ups of past clans, including the slew of player-created desert elf tribes, are also quite welcome. Let us immortalize you. Send your emails to sanvean@armageddon.org and zhaira@armageddon.org

We're currently #7 on TopMUDSites - thanks for voting!

Question, after that new update some things were changed with there descriptions and I can't craft certain items into certain things anymore, were some things changed to different levels or anything like that?

Things may have either been made more realistic, or an existing error was corrected. I.e. if an intricate metal sword with a leather-wrapped hilt was previously only crafted with just the metal item, someone may have decided to take into account the large silver-hilt, and the item now requires that silver to craft.

The difficulty of items are sometimes changed to, as they either appear to easy, or SIMILAR items are made crafteable and its illogical to have them all at the same difficulty.

I.e. if there are 100 loaf of bread items in the game, and all could logical be crafted from flour, it would be strange to have them all at a certain difficulty. So instead of having.

a loaf of bread
a dark loaf of bread
& a small loaf of bread

all crafted at the same difficulty, it may shift so that the small one is easier, the regular one is middle, and the dark one is harder. Usually taking into account the cost of the item and the general description.

As you can see by the large weekly number of bugs and typoes alot of things slip into the game that either are mistakes, or simple typoes that end up being corrected by someone soon after.
