Wanted to bump this to players who might have missed it.

Here's also a proper playlist of Ray Mear's survival clips, not all are desert or arm related - but interesting anyhow for wilderness characters:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI3wHcF-IQI&feature=PlayList&p=733B26B30C93DF02&index=0&playnext=1

I was going to look for more. But I found the playlist to QI. Which is hilarious.

So using poisoned weapons to hunt isn't twinkish after all, it seems. Thanks for the links.

Someone thought using poison to hunt was twinkish?

How else is it supposed to be used?

Depends on the poison. the size of the game, and depends on what you are intending to use the carcass for.

I really can't see it feasible using a super poison of terrible death on an animal the size of a jozhal if you're hunting for food, but maybe if you're just intending to use its hide or RP out cutting around the tainted meat in a larger animal.

A milder not so dangerous poison I think would be fine to use in hunting.

It would be neat if some poisons had a chance to be transferred to the raw meat after skinning an animal.

I recall long ago a post debating the validity of using poisoned arrows and weapons to hunt, yes.

I don't think the debate was about the realism of using poisoned arrows to hunt.

It was more of a gripe, because previously arrows and throwing knives would -never- poison anything if shot or thrown.  This was fixed.

I thought the same thing when I first watched that video. You've gotta be nuts to just walk on those beams that high up, and there were more people ahead of him!
