Quote from: Usiku on Today at 01:38:16 PMThis thread has gone sooo far off piste.. But anyway... just hypothetically, if we were ever going to implement mdesc covering masks, I feel like they could not and should not be infallible. Like there's always a chance other people might catch a glimpse of your eyes, hair, a tattoo and so on.. and you shouldn't know. That's how I would want it to be implemented anyway. But we have a whole trello board of coding backlog already, so you know, pipe dreams.
QuoteI'm thinking in the future I'll make a post about playing sponsored roles and antags in a way that's fun for the players involved. I know I haven't played many of these in Armageddon, but my time as a Dungeon Master for around 10+ years gives me a good idea I'd like to think, it's very much in the same area of the DM vs Players debate. And I just think it'll be a good discussion to have because it's important to see other perspectives on these things, especially staff.@Kavrick That sounds like a lovely idea.
Quote from: Usiku on Today at 07:31:09 AMthe vast majority of players are not griefers and are not out just to harm other players. The griefers are rare and few and far between but their actions stick in our memories and cloud our experiences so much more.
Quote from: Tuannon on Today at 03:36:09 AMI did have a question though.. Is a karma review mandatory for playing in Season 1? I'm pretty sure I'd be on somewhere between 4 and 6.
Quote from: frankjacoby on May 22, 2024, 08:21:05 PMAt the risk of being controversial, will we resort to handing out roles to the same old people as before? I am speaking of the same people who, because they didn't like the fact that seasons was going to be a thing, decided to take their ball and go home?
There were a few die hards trying to keep it going until the bitter end.
Quote from: Bogre on Today at 08:17:41 AMQuote from: Dresan on Today at 12:28:17 AMI also fear that wide spread anonymity will result in bias or outright cheating by both players and staff to help learn or identify m-desc hidden players. This type of cheating is pure poison for the game and is best avoided all together. Equally, limiting the gear to certain clans for special purposes defeats the entire purpose of having them at all since clans should have less need for anonymity.
That said if this goes in, I can't wait to see unconscious nobles lying naked on the ground. Probably not the intended outcome, but utterly hilarious none the less.
...
There aren't typically unconscious nobles lying around everywhere, assassinations of nobles is exceptionally rare. Why exactly do you except the streets to suddenly be littered with them ?
