I'm all the PC presence Red Storm needs.  8)

em turns south with a smile, hefting his traveling knapsack over onto the other shoulder and tightens his belt.

Think High ho, high ho, it's off to Storm, I go.

s
A BLISTERING SANDSTORM MELTS YOUR FACE OFF AND GOUGES YOUR SKIN. YOU ARE COMPLETELY LOST OUT HERE. YOU HEAR A BEETLE NOW YOUR DEAD.

lol

Seriously though: since the changes in the weather code, RS is actually -much- more playable.

Of course, the DOOM beetles will still wtfpwn your noob ass.

You just never find out how many people there are in RS because all of them wear the same cloaks. It's like the rinth in that sense.

Clans can give stat bonuses and penalties, too. The Byn drop in wisdom is particularly notorious.

Haha, this one had me laughing for awhile. I eh, I think my next character will be a stormer, actually. Normally like the roleplay.

The sword is sharp, the spear is long,
The arrow swift, the Gate is strong.
The heart is bold that looks on gold;
The dwarves no more shall suffer wrong.

Drov beetles - loosely related to the demon vestric, yes?

This is glorious. I officially bump this topic for Silt pirate win. Red Storm is an awesome zone that needs some mo' PC love, so come get in on the fun.

Can I just say..

YAHAARRRRRR!
Free your hate.

It's somewhat bumpin' gain, it seems.

Ah, man, sometimes I really miss my last Storm PC. She was awesome.

I'm gettin' the urge again...
And I vanish into the dark
And rise above my station

There any coded clans based in RSV?

I know Kurac and Salarr both have clan-only areas down there.

I seem to recall there being a PC in the Red Storm militia quite a long time ago...but that might've just been a special app. idea I never sent in.  Whatever the case, I'm sure the Red Storm militia is a hard-coded clan, since the code sort of requires it (I guess) for the NPCs to act in concert.

I've played in the Red Storm division of Kurac before and it was pretty fun.

If you wanted to get in on that, I imagine it would be possible. Not sure about the other Houses.

I wonder how high a percentage of new Stormers die before they get 10 rooms past the gate.
I tripped and Fale down my stairs. Drink milk and you'll grow Uaptal. I know this guy from the state of Tenneshi. This house will go up Borsail tomorrow. I gave my book to him Nenyuk it back again. I hired this guy golfing to Kadius around for a while.

Oh, come. If they were real Stormers, they'd never want to leave.

There is a certain group starting up around Red Storm. You know who you are. Anyways I am going to hijack this thread to post my playtimes and to post RPTs that are held around red storm.

And Kadius.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Necro a thread... like a mutha-lovin' boss.

QuoteThe world of Armageddon is known as Zalanthas. It is a harsh planet where only the fittest survive, and competition over extremely scarce resources causes constant strife, struggle, and bloodshed. Deserts cover most of its explored surface, and the great red sun can bring temperatures as high as 150 degrees during mid-day and as low as 60 degrees at night. Your character will face hardship often, and will probably even be killed, possibly at the hands of another player. If your character dies, he or she is dead -- permanently. However, you can always make another; just keep in mind that your new character will have no knowledge of your previous life.

If you haven't played a PC in Red Storm, you haven't done it right yet.

To the south is Shoulder Deep in Silt.

Wait, by what standards? Half-giant, dwarf, halfling, human, dirty necker?

Bash-proof elf.

I would like to see more characters in Storm, It's a rather good place.. to spice!
the heavy-browed, big-elbowed dwarf says in sirihish, glancing back at his ruined argosy, then back at you
"Ahm na' happy"

you say in sirihish, puzzledly
"then which one are you?"

Excuses people use not to play in Red Storm:

Can't go outside unless you're a ranger.     (they fixed this a month ago and gave desert nav to about a third of the subguilds)
No active clans.                                       (currently false - find out IC)
Not enough PCs.                                      (currently false, but fix the problem by making one)
Can't survive on sifting spice.                    (currently false - find out IC)

I have ALWAYs loved Red Storm (see all my above posts for proof), but now is probably the most active I have seen it, both in villagers and people passing through, and I don't even play that much. :D
