Title: Red Storm
Post by: FantasyWriter on September 11, 2008, 02:12:11 PM
There have been many, many instances where people have talked about how
wonderful Red Storm is, except for the fact that there are seldom any PC's
there to interact with.

Anyone who's not apping a Tuluki Noble come join me and let's make it a
jammin' place.

No PMs or IMs required, just make a PC of your liking, or bring your current
down, if they have a good reason!

Met you in the Eye of the Storm!

I think it was last weekend, during peak times...

That there were eight PC's around the tavern in RSV, the majority of them stationed around that area and not just traveling through.

I haven't logged in in a few days since I just bought a Wii, but I think RSV is really bumpin'.

Not that I'm suggesting you shouldn't make here... RSV is a great place and could always use moar.  :)

MOAR!

I saw a mul doing very nasty things once with a fleshlight AND a glow crystal...
He had a facewrap on AND his hood up.  Not a pretty sight.
But it DID add to the flavor of Red Storm, though.

Fluctuating. I was there recently and I saw four PCs, but they seemed temporary.

I love Red Storm. I've had some great, great RP there and there always seems to be some players doing something interesting there. Also, there's a lot of newbies there, someone should say 'hi' to them. I plan to make my first half-elf there some day.

there seem to be a handful of storm exclusive characters that camp the Eye, but with different playtimes. some one is also constantly killing the scrab in the area, so much that i'll go to storm, see 1 bunch of organs on the way. stay a few IC  hours, come out, and find TWO bunches of organs. My character also visits with some frequency, moreso than any other single city.

So, in summary, STORM IS WILDLY BUSY.

Seriously though: since the changes in the weather code, RS is actually -much- more playable.

Of course, the DOOM beetles will still wtfpwn your noob ass.

I know Kurac and Salarr both have clan-only areas down there.

I seem to recall there being a PC in the Red Storm militia quite a long time ago...but that might've just been a special app. idea I never sent in.  Whatever the case, I'm sure the Red Storm militia is a hard-coded clan, since the code sort of requires it (I guess) for the NPCs to act in concert.

I've played in the Red Storm division of Kurac before and it was pretty fun.

Necro a thread... like a mutha-lovin' boss.

QuoteThe world of Armageddon is known as Zalanthas. It is a harsh planet where only the fittest survive, and competition over extremely scarce resources causes constant strife, struggle, and bloodshed. Deserts cover most of its explored surface, and the great red sun can bring temperatures as high as 150 degrees during mid-day and as low as 60 degrees at night. Your character will face hardship often, and will probably even be killed, possibly at the hands of another player. If your character dies, he or she is dead -- permanently. However, you can always make another; just keep in mind that your new character will have no knowledge of your previous life.

If you haven't played a PC in Red Storm, you haven't done it right yet.

Excuses people use not to play in Red Storm:

Can't go outside unless you're a ranger.     (they fixed this a month ago and gave desert nav to about a third of the subguilds)
No active clans.                                       (currently false - find out IC)
Not enough PCs.                                      (currently false, but fix the problem by making one)
Can't survive on sifting spice.                    (currently false - find out IC)

I have ALWAYs loved Red Storm (see all my above posts for proof), but now is probably the most active I have seen it, both in villagers and people passing through, and I don't even play that much. :D
